While I was not an overnight guest at the Hyatt, I attended a one day conference at this hotel two days ago. When I first entered I noticed immediately how cold and unfriendly the entrance way was. I was however greeted nicely by the staff at the check in and they graciously directed me to my conference location, That was the last pleasant experience of the day. The room was okay however it looked very aged. The conference started and just as the speaker began so did a construction crew which seemed to be in the next room. For approximately 20 minutes ( until the conference coordinator had to ask them to stop) all we heard was banging hammers in five minute intervals. Also the conference coordinator also repeatedly asked the hotel to modify the temperature in the room ( make it warmer), however this request went unheeded. At the lunch break, we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant so that we could have a relaxing lunch and not have to rush to return to the hotel (big mistake). We were a group of 10 which they could not accommodate so we broke into 2 table of five. It took at least 15-20 minutes to have our order taken. Also just as lunch began, they closed the ladies room in the restaurant area to clean it.....(which meant that one had to travel back to the conference area to use the restroom - why they would choose to do a cleaning a the lunch hour is beyond my comprehension especially with a conference in the hotel and a full restaurant with conference attendees). Also, the ladies room in the conference area had only 1 out of 3 sinks that ran water..... It took even longer for our food to arrive than to have the order taken and we all had to practically inhale our food and still all who ate in the hotel restaurant held up the conference from beginning again for the afternoon session. This is not acceptable in a hotel that sponsors conferences. As I did not get to fully finish my lunch, at the afternoon break, I went to the hotel gift shop to grab a snack and a drink. The woman working the register was talking on a personal call and did not even hang up to wait on the line that was forming to check out. She simply just kept talking and moving very slowly. I can't believe such poor customer service! I was very surprised by the poor service and condition of this hotel as I had been here many times before for silent auction/banquets for my children's high school. I had noticed that as of late they had started to use a new hotel and now I understand why. I don't know if the rooms areas are in as poor shape and with poor services as the rest of the hotel, but I certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone even for just a day conference « less

We needed a hotel near a family affair we were having nearby and we booked quite a few rooms at the Hyatt. Our rooms were in a renovated wing and the room decor was outstanding...modern appointments, all in good taste. But the downside was that the new high tech toilet didn't work and we had to pack everything up and move to another room. The front desk staff made it as easy as possible and came down with new keys and help us move our things. The next morning we all had breakfast at the buffet. It wasn't wonderful. The bacon wasn't cooked enough, the scrambled eggs in the silver dish were overcooked and dry and many of the items were not replenished before they ran out. There was a woman making waffles, but she left before the breakfast was over. But again the service by the staff was excellent and they more than made up for the food flaws. We would stay here again -- but we would flush before we unpacked. « less

My husband and I stayed here overnight from a Satruday to Sunday. When we checked in, we had to get ready for the Comedy Club (Catch a rising star) which is in the hotel. Later that evening we were showered with Champagne and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries ( I did not want to leave our room then, wink). It was awesome, the comedy club rocked, we laughed and dranked and went straight to our cozy bed. What a quick and fun retreat! Hotel and Entertainement in one! « less

Overnight stay with daughter prior to McCarter Theater event. Friendly welcome icluding drink voucher. Beautiful room and bath in restful colors, marvelous beds. Nice service as we grazed in the Crystal Room. Shuttled to McCarter with Godfrey, prompt pickup at Theater front door. Breakfast a little shaky, could be improved. « less
