Much below expectations – That is how I would summarize my stay at NH Lux. For me the only plus was the location – proximity to the airport and also to the office blocks. Apart from these there is nothing great to talk about.As is the keeping with the NH chain, the NH Luxembourg is also situated right next to the airport –You could literally walk over if you are not carrying huge luggage. Alternatively the hotel also runs a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. You can also hop on to the regular buses from the airport and be in the city centre for Euro 2 only – which is a steal as taxi are very expensive.
The hotel property is very old and dated – and this is evident from everything – the entrance, reception, elevators, rooms, restaurant (If we may call it that). The air-conditioning control in the room is the type I never saw before – There is no temperature control and on my first night it was not even working and the open window came to my rescue for some fresh air. The fittings in the room and the bathroom also are quite old and not the most functional. However the mattress and pillows are very comfortable and ensure a good night's rest - if you can ignore any noise that may come from the open window.
The restaurant serves a buffet breakfast – for which most of the items did not look very fresh. There is a buffet for dinner as well – which is at best avoided. Over priced ( Well Lux anyway is an expensive city) and the options are limited and again did not look to fresh. Best is to eat out – However if you are eating at the hotel, best is to order a-la carte. There is nothing on the room service menu- except one or two dishes and there is additional charge of Euro 4 for every order. There is a bar/lounge that serves drinks in the evenings and is the best bet for any F&B ( Though the ‘Food’ part in the F&B was mainly nibbles and nuts) at the hotel. I would say for the price paid, way below the value expectation. « less

I stayed here recently on a business trip as more centrally located hotels seemed to be booked out. The hotel is located very close to the airport and is easily walking distance...you walk outside the airport and the hotel is straight in front. The hotel does have a shuttle but needs to be booked when you are making your reservation at the hotel. The hotel itself is of a good standard and I had no complaints. I had a standard room and it was a reasonable size. While the airport is very close to the hotel I can't say I noticed any noise. The restaurant was fine both for breakfast and dinner and service was efficient and courteous in the bar. Check-in was also pleasant and courteous. All round it delivered perfectly for a business trip. It may be a little out of the centre for a personal trip and you would need to avail of taxis or presumably buses from the airport to get to the centre, taxis are not cheap so worth taking account of. « less

Flight cancelled on way back to UK and put up in the NH for the night. Hotel was ok but no more, can't say if it was good value for money as I didn't see the bill. Room was a bit tired and not many staff around so service not great. Dinner was a buffet, reasonable but nothing special, breakfast selection was good. Very convenient for the airport, stones through away and surprisingly quite given the location. Ok for a short stop over, wouldn't recommend for any length of time. Also 20 euro cab ride into town. « less
