We did not eat in the hotel but there was a restaurant there. Rooms were clean and seemed very up to date! Would definitely come back and recommend to friends. « less

I stayed in the fall of 2012, and had a great trip. The rooms were very nice, although somewhat small. Realistically though, it's DC, and we spent more time walking around than we did in our room, so size wasn't an issue at all. The hotel is very convenient to the mall, but it does put you at the capital end, so if you're looking to get to the other end of the mall with most of the monuments, be prepared to walk a bit. Hotel had a good buffet, although it was slightly overpriced for my tastes. That just may be what most hotels in DC are like. Overall, it was a great stay and I'd definitely stay again! « less

Got a great rate on Priceline and my partner and I enjoyed a pleasant weekend a the Washington Court. Very large, clean room with a view of the Capitol done. The bathroom was especially large for a hotel with a bathtub as large as ours at home. Perfect for soaking my tired legs after trudging all over DC. The room service breakfast menu was oddly inexpensive (as such things go) and we enjoyed an excellent breakfast in the room one morning. The $46 valet parking seemed ridiculous so we parked at Union Station which is only a few blocks away and is $22 a night. It's also the closest metro stop with lots of restaurants and shops. It is a very short walk to the National Gallery on the Mall. There is a homeless shelter nearby but certainly no one bothered us and one need not walk by it-there are other ways into downtown or to the metro. Homelessness is a sad fact in cities like DC; it it's that bothersome perhaps another type of vacation or destination would be more appropriate. Overall, very nice stay and we'd be happy to stay there again. « less

Nice location close to the Capital and The Mall but not much around the hotel. (e.g. Stores/restaurants) Short walk from Union Station but it is very disorienting when you walk out of the station. In addition to there being a a circular street in front of the station, the streets go off in multiple directions. A policeman sort of gave us directions.....the street he told us was New Jersey Avenue was not but it got us moving in the correct direction. If you come out of the front of the station you will see the Postal Museum on your right. A couple streets over to the left of the Postal Museum look for two Irish bars going off on an angled street. This is the street you should walk down to get to New Jersey Avenue. (Note: if you end up on the first street to the left of the museum you will be on Massachusetts Ave. This will also get you to New Jersey Ave.) Once you make a left on New Jersey Ave. you will see the hotel.
We arrived at 11 AM and were fortunate to get a room right away. Whether the clerk was telling us the truth or not is debatable but he said we could only have a room with a king and not two queens. (We were on a girlfriends' weekend.) The reason I am not sure he was telling the truth is because we got the room off a discount website and received a low floor facing the street. Not only did we hear sirens all night, the people in the room next to us were arguing and it was almost like they were in our room. When they flushed the toilet it was like the toilet was in our room and when they slammed the door to their room it shook our wall. The arguing stopped but someone came back at 3:20 AM and pounded on the door to be let in and then the arguing started again. Not the hotel's fault but no one at the front desk ever asked us how our stay was. The valets at the door were very friendly and helpful but I would have to say the clerks at the front desk were just perfunctory.
We had a couple of meals at Union Station...lots of restaurants there and a great atmosphere. We had arrived there on the train from Baltimore, MD. Very easy to get there on Amtrak and quite efficient.
Would not stay at this hotel again. Would stay in another area close to a metro where there were more stores and restaurants around the hotel.
I will say it was clean and the rooms were large but it was not as luxurious as I would have expected for a 4 star hotel. « less

Just booked using Hotwire and got stuck with Washington Court. My trip is in two weeks, but already upset that parking will be $46/night, no free breakfast ($13/person), no free wi-fi in room, and it's located near a homeless shelter. My fault for having reasonable, industry-standard, expectations and using a website like Hotwire. « less
