I ended up at the Hilton Wangfujing for a business trip. This is one of the nicer hotels I've stayed in, business and pleasure. The amenities are endless, the restaurants are delicious, and the service was superb. This is a perfect central location to the sites of Beijing. The transit station is about four blocks away, Forbidden City is within walking distance.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, even though it is a little more than most other places, it is money well spent.
There is a hot pot place across the street on the top floor of the older mall, always busy but worth the wait. « less

Dont usually stay in Hilton Hotels, however i liked the reviews and as a first time tourist wanted to be close to Tiananmen Square. My sister had a deluxe room and I opted for the Lifestyle Suite with Balcony. Both rooms were extremely spaceous compared to other Beijing Hotels. The Lifesytyle Suite was magnificent and the lighting and design of the room worthy of awards. Breakfast at Vascos Restaurant was excellent and the service wonderful (especially Nora). I spent 8 days here and on day 3 everyone knew my name. The consierge staff went out of their way to arrange tickets and no task was too great. So the hotel is excellent on all levels. Some may not like the location, opting for somehing a little further east. However, as a tourist I found it to be central to all my needs. My only negative is that wifi and laundry costs are absolutely ridiculous. Plus with wifi you are only allowed two devices. Travelling as a couple we both have a lap top both have an iphone and both have an ipad. We kept having to call for them to reset the wifi. Its just cheap on the hotels part and not worthy of such an excellent hotel. « less

I travel every week for work and cashed in my Hilton points for 5 nights at this property on a vacation through China. This hotel exceeded my expectations for a traditional 'business' hotel.
Check-in: Arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport. Wasn't cheap but having never been to China wanted the reassurance of finding the hotel. Driver was waiting for us and took us straight to the hotel. No complaints but probably would have just taken a taxi in hindsight. Upon arriving to the hotel they took us straight to the club lounge for check-in. With Gold status we were upgraded to a Deluxe Plus room on the Club level.
Room: Room was great with all the amenities you'd hope for. TV had numerous English channels and the internet was fast and free.
Location: The location is in the heart of Beijing. It is a short walk to Tienanmen Square and The Forbidden City. Taxis are always available to take you anywhere else in the city. The hotel gives you a car with the major sites written in both English and Chinese to help with communication with taxi drivers.
Club Lounge: The club lounge was definitely the best part of the hotel. They offer a substantial breakfast for free each morning, free tea/hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon, and free drinks and light supper each night.
The service overall in the hotel was exceptional. They were always asking if they could help (everyone spoke great English). I will definitely return to this hotel on my next trip to Beijing! « less

Originally we have booked this hotel for 11 nights, but we stayed there for only 4 nights, although it was not refundable. Here is why: 1. The suite we booked was 100sq.m. - this may sound a lot, but in reality it was not. There was a huge kitchen, huge wardrobes in the living room and tiny little bedroom and bathroom. 2. The A/C was not working (the outside temperature was 10 C). The technicians came, said there is nothing to be done and brought a heater. However, the heater could only make one room warm, but not both at the same time, so we had to choose. 3. None of the staff spoke English, except one Russian girl. We asked for additional blankets, since it was cold, but we wanted separate blankets that are sheeted. It took a lot of time and we still didn't get what we wanted. I didn't know I can explain what a blanket is in so many different ways. At some point my husband started pulling out images from google to explain what he wants. That didn't work either, so we thought that the staff not only doesn't speak English but are also genuinely stupid. 4. We were jet lagged and by the time we get hungry, the restaurants were already closed. Ordering in-room dining was quite fun too. Even simple things like "club sandwich but cucumbers instead of tomatoes". The just don't know any of those words. 5. My husband waited for 30 minutes before they call him a taxi. I can go on and on with this list. « less

Management response from Marc de Beer, General Manager
Dear angel4etomimi,
I was disappointed to read of the frustrations you faced during your recent stay with us. I am sorry you did not like the lay out of our 107 square meter Premier Suite. The kitchenette, dining room for 6 and large living room are especially liked by families with children or business people looking to entertain or have meetings in their suite. As a couple you would have probably liked our Deluxe Suite much more. While central heating in Beijing is still governement controlled (and switched off by the middle of March), we are generally able to maintain a temperature of around 20 degrees inside the rooms just from the latent heat in the building and by switching off the air conditioning. I regret this was not properly communicated to you. Running the A/C would have made matters worse, as it would only have delivered fresh air, making the room even colder. Although not everyone in the hotel speaks fluent English, we typically make sure to have enough proficient English speakers on each shift in guest facing areas of the hotel. It is regrettable that your concerns were not brought to their attention for satisfactory resolution. I have shared your feedback with my management team to ensure our Team Members know when to escalate matters. Taxis in Beijing are notoriously hard to get, and it is truly beyond our control that it sometimed takes a long time. Particularly during rush hour it is hard to find a taxi that is willing to take the passenger there where he/she wants to go. The Beijing government is very much aware of this problem and is actually reviewing proposals this month to remedy this. There are signs that this situation will soon improve. I am truly distrought that your experience made you cut your visit to Beijing short. I can only hope you will come back one day to enjoy the many sights of Beijing you may have missed this time. Kind regards, Marc de Beer

I almost always stay at Hilton in the US. This Hilton was outstanding in terms of quality, staff friendliness. The location is really great, there is a mall close-by, you can walk to the forbidden city and Tia tanian square in about 20 minutes. Taxi, subway and bus service is also close by. I did think the price of the tours at the hIlton were overpriced, you can pay about 35-45% less by going through an outside tour guide or go through the internet « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"My team and I had a great stay at the Marriot Norcross last week. I was unable to meet up with Ms Vanita and unable to passed her a box of Godiva Chocolates I bought for her. We will not even bother to seek other hotel-planning-organization after we have used your great service. You can even quote me on this. Meanwhile, we have to make 2 trips to the states every year from now onwards and will definitely use your services. Once again, thank you for making our trip a success." O.S. - Atlanta, GA
"I think this site is amazing! I can't wait to use this site more! I still can't believe the "meeting planner" part of the site is free!" J.J. - Albany, NY
