We stayed here for 4 nights while in town for a wedding. It appears to have been renovated in the past 5 years which made for a pleasant stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is some what convenient for using the riverwalk to get to the "downtown" area. The beds are extra firm. The pool could use a better filtration system. midway through the day you could see a nasty film floating in the gutters. « less

We were part of a very large wedding party staying at the Marriott (a group that can get rather rambunctious, at times...although quite harmless). The staff at the hotel accommodated our every need, from keeping the bar/restaurant open early/late, to making sure our every need was taken care of, this place did it all. In particular, Ryan was constantly checking in with us to make sure we were completely satisfied.
The rooms were very clean and well stocked; the beds were comfortable, even the hide-away in the couch.
The location on the newly completed Riverwalk is a plus for anyone into running/jogging along the water and into Palmetto across the bridge.
I cannot recommend this property highly enough...if you're in the area, stay there! « less

We stayed here while attending a memorial service. Check-in was excellent as we were upgraded to a river-view king with breakfast coupons for only $10. Breakfast staff gave good service....

Managers and others in the lobby asked if all was OK a little too often as they did not realize others had also asked. « less

The Courtyard is located in a great spot near the hospital and along the Manatee River. It has a great outdoor pool and courtyards for enjoying the evening. The lobby is comfortable with a small area for food, drink and coffee. It has a convenience store with the essentials. The rate I paid was typical for a Courtyard. The room was adequate size with a comfortable bed and working area. I'm a light sleeper and had a problem with the noise made by the air conditioner which was running constantly. I found it tough to get a full night's sleep. « less

Plus no mini-fridge and for the money there really should have been one (especially since there was no ice on my floor). Very good fitness center - really the best I've seen in a regular hotel. There's a small restaurant in the lobby. The food was good, but not much of a selection. « less
