We stayed at this hotel overnight so we could catch an early flight to Orlando. It was the perfect choice! The proximity to the airport was unbeatable. The unit was clean and spacious-the bed was so comfortable, it was so hard to get up and leave, were it not for the fact that we were going to Disney we would've stayed a bit more.The staff was very helpful and friendly. They assisted us in checking if our flight was on time, they printed out a map for us to get to the outlet mall, gave us instructions on how to contact them when we required a shuttle to pick us up from the airport. Would highly recommend this place! « less

I am a Marriott Platinum member and have been for several years. I really enjoy staying in Marriott hotels and love to take my wife on weekend trips and vacations using the perks from being such a member. I agree with most of the reviews of the Courtyard Buffalo Airport - it is a new, clean, well-appointed hotel. It is ideal for the business traveler; very comfortable. However, I believe a true hotel is also measured by when there is an issue and how well management does to resolve the issue - and how quickly. My wife and I stayed here on Friday night. Earlier we went to an excellent Italian restaurant called Mulberry's in Lackawanna. As is our practice, we bring a cooler to transport our leftovers back home (to Rochester). This time we intentionally ordered three (3) entrees so we could try an extra dish and bring some home for our kids to taste/try, and, in turn, after appetizers, salad, we had quite a bit of leftovers. Fast forward to the next morning, I called down to the front desk to ask for a late check-out because we were going on a tour of the Darwin Martin home in Buffalo (a famous Frank Lloyd Wright complex, not just a single home). We were told that that should be no issue. We took our bags and put them in the car (good thing!), but left our cooler, our leftovers (stored in the small refrigerator in the room) and my wife's still warm flat iron (for hair). We also put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and left. We returned to find the room was completely cleaned and all of our belongings gone. I called down to the front desk and the woman there (same one who granted us the late check-out) said she would look into it. After 10-15 min, we got back our cooler and flat iron, but the food was thrown away. No one took responsibility (I STRONGLY do not blame the maid - who was only doing her job). Either the front desk person did not communicate to the head housekeeper or the head housekeeper did not communicate to the maid. We were told that they were sorry, but that's it. I told them I would like to be compensated for our food. I was told that the General Manager would call me, but s/he didn't get in until 4 pm. No call. Nothing. This morning I found an email indicating 2000 points were issued to my Marriott Rewards account. At a generous conversion, this is about $20. No promised phone call, no apology and not real compensation. This is a fine hotel, it is the management that needs a good deal of work. My next review is directly to Marriott... « less

Courtyard Inns are perfect hotels for business travellers, but this one is designed to the new Marriott standard. Upon entering the first impression is well-lit, spacious with lots of seating for one-on-one meetings or small groups. The upscale food-court area offers a good selection at very reasonable prices. It is the perfect answer to a quick meal and is a step above the "make it yourself" comp breakfast. Privacy pods are really cool - you can eat and check the news in privacy. The business office is an open area within the lobby with 4 computers, a printer and office supplies. There is also a 24 hour market for late night snacks. Rooms are large and well-lit. Ask for a room with the shower only - it is amazing! Large shower with glass door and control on the opposite wall from the shower head - no more wet sleeves! My only small critique - no make up mirror in the bathroom! « less
