We stayed in the Hilton just down the block from Northwestern while we were in Evanston over the weekend for a graduation. We had two rooms that were "king mini-suites." At this Hilton, that meant a king bed tucked into a small room with a smaller bathroom.
The room was clean and had all of the touches you expect from a Hilton. The heating & cooling system clanked and roared through the night keeping the room comfortable if a little noisy.
Easy walking distance to Northwestern.

This hotel is conveniently located next to Northwestern University, so if you have any business at the university, this would be a place to stay. I only have positive things to say about my stay. The receptionists were extremely professional and friendly. I checked in early and did not have any of the guilt-tripping about it that you sometimes get at other hotels. My room was spacious and quiet; it had a bath-tub and all necessary amenities. Everything worked smoothly. There is a very comfortable lobby bar downstairs that is a great hang-out place for guests and visitors alike. The fitness center at the hotel is one of the better ones I've seen. It's got probably about a dozen different treadmills, stair masters, and bikes, so there's plenty to choose from, even if there were many people there. I found the restaurant at the hotel very reasonably priced, especially in comparison to other Hiltons I've stayed in before. The hotel is within walking distance from many restaurants. A colleague took me to FOUND, which is said to be the coolest new restaurant in the Chicago area--and I can't argue with that. Both the ambience and food were terrific. Be prepared to wait, though, it is very popular. My only complaint is that it was a little noisy, but that was my own fault for not asking for a quiet room. Overall, a terrific stay. Would definitely stay there again. « less

My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Orrington last weekend. The staff was very good. The breakfast buffet was fine but nothing out of the ordinary.The room was a bit on the small side but nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. My only problem with the room was the bathroom. It was extremely small. For a hotel of this quality, the bathrooms should be upgraded. Given the age of the hotel, I doubt that will be possible. Having said that I would stay again. If you need to be in Evanston, you can't beat the location. « less
