Hotel and its amenities is perfect. Staff is extremely helpful, rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast is good, although some variety would not hurt. The biggest plus of the hotel are its shuttles, cause if it was not for them, most of the non-motorized guests would be stuck in the hotel. I know its a perfect location in the middle of nowhere for short seminars and conferences, but if you travel half the globe you would like to see Chicago too.... Although there is a sign that a bus stops in-front of the hotel, actually there isn't any bus stopping ( I asked the bus driver of 272 he said there was a detour there now so they don't stop there anymore)) but the sign is still there. So the hotel's shuttles fill in the gap the best they can and as much as they can, and for that I'm very grateful. « less

Having been in the hotel/resort/restaurant business for over 50 years we were pleasantly surprised to find an establishment that exceeded our expectations. The hotel is exceptionally clean. The rooms are well appointed; spacious and very comfortably furnished. The beds are sleep number beds which allowed us to select a firmness comfortable to our liking. The restaurant was better than expected with excellent service personnel. The front desk staff is very accomodating and pleasant to interact with. The room rate is very competitive for the area. The location of the hotel was central to our needs in the Northwest suburban Chicago area. We will return and look forward to our next visit at this fine hotel. « less

My fiancé and I recently visited for an overnight stay. We were very delighted with the cleanliness of the hotel and the room itself. Everyone was also very friendly. Crowne Plaza really goes out of their way to provide guests with a great experience. I, personally, loved that they hotel offered a mini relaxation kit including lotions and some relaxing room spray! We ordered room service as well and that was great. The sleep number bed was a surprising addition to our stay. We would definitely come back again. « less

I didn't even realize this until the 2nd day after a colleague told me, but the firmness of the bed (on both sides) can be adjusted with a control!!! The bed was WONDERFUL! The breakfast buffet had good selection of fruits, protein, and carbs. The coffee was a little slow in coming, however; or it may have just felt that way, since I was in the rush to leave for meetings every day. They offer great shuttle service within the Northbrook area (probably about 5 mile radius). We were able to reserve one almost every morning, and utilized it for 3 nights to go out to dinner and back. It worked out great! To me, the complimentary shuttle service makes up for somewhat inconvenient location of being a mile awayfrom shopping areas. « less

Decent though boring conference hotel, across the road from the Hilton Hotel conference facilities. The hotel is spread over a fairly large footprint, and as our room was way round back of hotel, there was a fair amount of walking to get to the lobby. The room was quiet, and comfortable though the mattress was slight too soft and the pillows too high. Otherwise we were able to have a decent nights sleep. Free wifi was available in the room and public areas. Service was generally prompt and friendly, except for one lady at reception who seemed to only want to do the minimum. Breakfast is ample. The gym is relatively small though adequate.
The downside to the hotel is its location in Northbrook, which makes it slightly inconvenient unless all you want is to go to the conference facilities across the road. The hotel however provides a free shuttle to any location with 5 miles. The Metra provides reasonable access to the city, and there is a decent mall within shuttle bus reach. « less
