My husband and I spent two nights at the Austin Hilton for a professional conference. The room was very clean, well maintained, and tastefully decorated. I thoroughly enjoyed our room! Even though this is an older hotel, the rooms and public areas have been remarkably updated.
The only reason I did not give this hotel five stars is because of the cost of the food, rooms, and parking. I understand full service hotels charge more, but it was hard to stomach the idea of paying $16 for a room service hamburger and $24 for self parking, and the room was $205 per night before approximately $40 in hotel and visitor taxes. Perhaps this is normal, but I feel that these prices were a bit much for Austin, Texas during the week during a non peak travel time.
Of note, the food that we ate during the conference was of average quality, but nothing to brag about. Maybe I just had higher expectations for a full service convention hotel.
However, if you need a clean and safe hotel near the entertainment district, then the Hilton is a solid option. « less

We stayed here for one night. The staff was very helpful, maybe a little slow to check in, but they showed up us up to our room. Rooms were nice and clean. We were walking distance from 6th street where we ended up partying that night. No cab fees or anything. They had a nice coffee shop with street views that we sat in and had a small bite to eat before we hit the road the next day. Great experience all together. « less

Had a very pleasant stay at this Hilton, hotel was at a great location and the rooms were comfy and clean. The bartender Joe made my fiancé and I feel at home we were in awe of him. The valet was a problem, we called the night before to make sure our car would be ready by 8am and when we arrived that morning by 8 they never even took the keys out, we were late 20mins because of this. Then we had the exact same problem the next day but they took one day of valet off my bill so we appreciated that. « less

This has to be the best location for downtown Austin. I am here for a conference and the meeting rooms are very well suited for us. The rooms are clean and well decorated. And the pool is very nice. Service is great at the front desk. But when it came to clean my room the cleaning man said he would be back and he didn't show. Not a big deal just noted. All in all good experience. « less

Airport transportation available through SuperShuttle. Charge is $14/each way or $28/roundtrip. The Hilton Austin is the first point of drop-off from the airport and the last point of pick-up to the airport, making travel time minimal. Austin-Bergstrom Airport is 7 miles/10 minutes from downtown. A taxi costs $25/way to the Hilton Austin.
