This location was well maintained inside and out. There seemed to be a high occupancy rate. The front desk to point out a restaurant at the front of the property that gave a 10% discount with your room key. The room was neat and clean as well. The bed was clean and comfortable. The only issue, like many Hampton Inns, was the positioning of the HVAC unit to blow directly onto the desk when you try to work at the desk. Otherwise it was great. A nice feature that seems to be appearing sporadically at recent Hampton Inn stays has been the addition of a charging station on the night stand. It has two electrical connections and two USB connections. It is nice to have this feature. « less

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was very good. We were in town for a wedding which didn't start till 1:00 so they allowed us to stay a little past checkout which was very nice. Close to the mall. Great experience! « less

The breakfast was good as well as the breakfast staff...she was extremely helpful! I've stayed at this hotel many, many times before and would definitely recommend it. « less

I gotta tell u that it was quite a process to get 2 hotel rooms for my daughter's graduation! One must be quick when booking a hotel for such an important date and each hotel has a different date to book and system in which to book it! Hampton Inn was one of the few hotels which actually had a person at the other end of the line! This hotel is right off the highway on College Ave! The area is quiet and without the mass traffic jams!! The hotel was immaculate but a tad dark! The staff were very friendly and helpful offering us complimentary water upon our arrival!! Coffee station for patrons in lobby is available all day long and the coffee is absolutely delicious! Breakfast was buffet style, oatmeal, yogurt etc and was more than adequate for a quick bite to eat before graduation. A breakfast to go was also supplied if someone was in a rush! Hotel room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Feather free room! No closet, but armor was present. Bathroom was ok and clean. We had asked for adjoining rooms, and were told that they could not accommodate us! We were placed on the same floor, but if we had small children, this would have been a problem! Our room faced the front parking lot and we were awakened by a delivery to the restaurant in the same parking lot at 6 am! I suggest to avoid all noise, request a room facing the back! This hotel is about a mile to Penn State, but not walkable! We simply took a cab, if anyone went out to celebrate at night! All in all, we have stayed in a lot of hotels in Penn State during our last 4 years and this staff was the most accommodating helpful staff I have ever met! The lobby has just recently been re-done and in the fall, the rest of the hotel will get a complete over-haul!! Can't get any better than that!! « less

This Hampton Inn is a perfect location right off of the highway, easy access in and out of town, and convenient bar, situated right in their parking lot. The Hotel is kept in good condition, although we ended up in a smoking room which wasn't quite ideal, they did their best to cover the smell, but I really can't wait until all hotels are just entirely smoke free. The staff was great even when we arrived late in the evening, quick attentive service, while answering the phones, they were very impressive in their multi-tasking yet being efficient. But make no mistake, this is a college town, and being we were here for a weekend stay, it opens the hotel up to that kind of demographic. The walls were a bit thin, there was minor lack in housekeeping concern (We informed them around 1:30pm, that we would be out of the room in a half hour could they clean it then to which they replied they'd be done with their rooms, so they couldn't.) But truly not a big deal, overall solid experience and would return due to location and quality of front desk staff. « less
