I had never been to New York before and with a last minute decision to attend a conference, I was unable to book a room at the conference centre. I found the Ameritania on trip advisor. It was right around the corner from the host hotel and I couldn't have been happier. The building itself is old (I like historic buildings) but the lobby and rooms have been updated with a very modern style. The staff was friendly and very helpful, and when I was having trouble with the Wifi (should be free these days in my opinion) the staff offered me room service vouchers by way of apology. The room was small and very clean with a great view of the New York skyline. I had trouble also with the thermostat in the room also, which did not get fixed even after a service call. But the location was sincerely the best in all New York. As I said, I had never been to NY before and the very first evening I walked to Times Square AND Central Park. I would happily stay there again with my family and we are planning a trip next year because I felt so comfortable here. Definitely a little gem in the heart of this big city! « less

Everything was perfect from the service!! to the rooms!! to the location!! I especially want to point out the (2) concierges - Mourad and Jeffrey - outstanding!!! But all the people who we came in contact with at the hotel were so nice - so helpful!! Thank you for making our few days in the city - PERFECT!! We would love to come back again!!
