Spent the weekend here last weekend. Was very excited for an Embassy Suites since I'd had a previous experience that was out of this world with this brand.....guess I shouldnt have gotten my hopes up. First, who makes guests wear wristbands to eat breakfast on a weekend? If youre attending a wedding, a bright green wristband does NOT make a favorable fashion statement. Second, the housekeeping staff could use a refresher course on polite customer service. Heaving a sigh when I ask for an additional towel just doesnt do it for me. And really, the biggest issue of the weekend was to wake up on Monday morning to find that there was NO HOT WATER in the hotel. Where was my courtesy note apologizing for the inconvenience? When I called the desk to verify that I didnt just need to run the water a little longer that morning, after someone finally answered the phone, I was cut off mid-sentence by a very rude man working the desk. I was told that "the hot water has been out for 5-6 hours and we DONT know when it will be back" he then proceeded to hang up. I realize they had probably been getting that question a lot that morning, but seriously, its the first time I had called, and I deserved the courtesy of a polite response and maybe even an apology. The only bright side of my entire experience was the joy of interacting with Yolanda the Night Shift GSA. She was pleasant and accomodating. And the security guard working with her was a real treat as well. « less

Hotel is next to busy freeway, some road noise on the back side. Meeting room as average as they go. Crammed people in, had to ask for another table which staff brought promply. « less

This hotel is in a nice area of Columbus . The two room suite is typical Embassy Suites with a great cooked to order breakfast and evening reception. The rooms are clean and well maintained.. My only complaint is the front desk check in. Paul on the front desk was not very welcoming and was basically Rude. It appeared that he had missed the memo on polite customer service. Even the gentleman cleaning the glass elevator had gotten the memo. Perhaps Paul should not deal directly with the public? « less

Stayed at Hotel for 3 nights. Overall the experience was one of the best that i have had at a hotel. The room was very clean and having a suite feels less claustrophobic than a regular room. The free breakfast was very good with decent variety and made to order omelettes. they even have an "egg whites only" option for the omelettes. For those of you who like a couple of drinks after meetings all day, the Manager's Reception was amazing. Our bartender, Vicki, had a wonderful personality and would make any kind of drink you wanted and would make suggestions if you describe what you like.
The two minor annoyances. First, it is important to try to get a room that it on on upper level AND not on the highway side of the hotel. I got the upper level but had just enough highway noise to make getting to sleep slower. The second, which thankfully I did not personally experience was the shuttle. The free shuttle worked perfectly for me both ways to the airport. However, many of my collagues experienced long delays getting picked up from the airport and long delays waiting for the shuttle when they had been dropped off at the mall or for dinner.
In conclusion, definitely go to this hotel, just ask the hotel about shuttle related issues. « less
