Set in the heart of California's capital city, the Sacramento Hostel is a beautiful Victorian mansion built in 1885 by a Gold Rush millionaire. Historians know it as the Llewellyn Williams Mansion, but guests know it as one of California's best travel deals and America's most unique hostel. A stay with us is a step back in time -- the restored grand entry, vaulted ceilings, wood paneling, chandeliers, painted glass skylight, and hand-painted tilework all add to the hostel's historic appeal. The first floor of the mansion is an elegant and flexible space that's ideal for weddings, parties, and receptions as well as meetings or conferences. The formal dining room, family dining room, formal parlor, sitting room, and grand foyer are all interconnected but separated by sliding pocket doors, so they can be used together for one large event, or sectioned off into smaller rooms.For overnight accommodations, the mansion has a total of 15 guest rooms including 8 private rooms (1 twin, 2 doubles, 1 queen, 3 double/triples, 1 double-double) and 7 dorm rooms (with a total of 57 bunkbeds).All full-house rentals include: daily continental breakfast, coffee/tea/water, free WiFi, private parking for 10 vehicles, setup/teardown, and use of audio/visual equipment (32" flatscreen TV with DVD, 6' x 6' projection screen, whiteboard, flipchart, easel, pens). Catering options are also available.
