This time, I'll start with the good and end with the, well, poor. Here we go:
The people working the front desk as well as the van driver (free trip from Portland -- PDX -- airport on the Blue Line) were genuinely nice. Smiles, caring, all that good stuff. One of the morning clerks even almost tripped getting to the elevator door to hold it open for me as I brought my breakfast (see below) up to my room. That shows good, deferential service despite her not having tripped.
They provided me with a suite at a very nice rate in apparent deference to my real estate agent’s working relationship with them, and I continue to appreciate the accommodation. The room was clean, the décor was fully adequate, and, since I was fortunate to get a suite, it was roomy and inviting.
Oh, the downstairs breakfast! Hot and great! Fresh scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy done nicely, waffles, rolls, bagels, sweets, yogurt, and more and more. Nicely-executed. They even have long 6-10am breakfast hours; most hotels that offer even a miniscule breakfast in my experience go from 7-9.
Oh: No signs of bedbugs.
But now we descend ...
Upon entering the room, I heard running water. It was the toilet and, although it appeared clean (if somewhat porcelain-stained), trying to wiggle the handle and flush several times was to no avail. So I called the front desk; they said they'd send someone if I didn't want to change rooms. Fine. Fair.
But I learned later that the maintenance guy apparently didn't know enough, or didn't have the parts, to fix it, so my choices were to turn the thing off whenever I didn't need to use it (wanna put your hand on a spigot that lives beneath strangers’ feces releases?), change rooms, or suffer the unwelcome sounds all night. Would this make you happy?
Eventually the thing fixed itself, but this wasn't fun.
Beneath the lamp’s lampshade beside the bed, the bulb receptacle was not secured. Easy to get to bare, electricity-hot wires just by reaching one’s hand in there. Can you say, "zap?"
The shower had a push-button thing on the wall for shampoo and soap. Looks kind of high-tech until you try to squeeze enough out to actually use. I found myself smashing the soap button 10-15 times just to get enough out to use on the washcloth (several times). The shampoo, which left my hair like straw in a fire-starting contest, was also not very forthcoming out of the high-tech equipment. And, since they provided this dispenser, the hotel did not provide conditioner/rinse, which might have tamed the fly-away bush atop my head.
Okay, the detriments aren’t devastating, and the positive aspects were quite nice. So my rating is middling. All in all, it’s an okay place with very, very nice people working there. « less

We stayed here in May 2013 while traveling on a business trip. We booked it on Hotwire on a "Secret 3 Star Hotel" for an unbelievable price of $52/king bed for two. It was an amazing value and stay. We thought the rooms were clean - however a little mold on the high ceiling bathroom. The rooms were very spacious and roomy with a comfortable king size bed separated from the seating area. There were two TVs with a couch and desk, refrigerator, microwave, and yummy Seattle coffee for the coffee maker. It was a great "quiet" location and we didn't hear traffic or anything. There was a nice complimentary breakfast with waffles, cereal, eggs, biscuits and gravy, rolls, bagels etc, juices, and fresh fruit. We would definitely stay here again. P.S. The rooms could use some new carpet. « less

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience with us. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope next time you're in the Vancouver area you'll stay with us again. Hopefully when you stay next you'll get to see new carpet in the guest rooms as we're working very hard to get that completed this year.
Thank you again.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before and it is always a pleasure to come back. The service at the front desk is first class. This time I had ordered some merchandise be sent to the hotel and held for me until my arrival. It was waiting for me when I arrived along with a bif smile. The corner room I had this time was a large suite styled room, very comfortable along with a good king size bed. The breakfast room is very good. Nice quiet...business park...location, with some good restaurants close by. Great value. « less

Used Travelocity to find this hotel and got a good deal on a king room. The room was quite large, with a separate living room area with sofa, tv, desk, microwave, and fridge. The bed was very comfy and the room was not very quiet. A motor noise coming from the bathroom when the fan turned off. The complimentary buffet breakfast in the morning was good with a nice variety. Only one waffle machine. The front desk was very friendly. The hotel was a good place to stay. « less

Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate any comments given by guests, good or bad, as it offers us a chance to revise how we do things. I wish I knew the room you were in so my engineer could look at the noise coming from the bathroom. I can assure you he works very hard to attend to any maintenance items in our guest rooms and around the hotel. I hope that you'll have a chance to come back and visit us again to experience not just a good stay but an excellent one.
Thank you again.

I stayed her over spring break because the rate was on the lower side with the amount of nights we were staying. The lobby has been updated if you can over look the odd wall paper of red woods behind the front counter area. Our room was located on the first floor when we checked in (early) just had enough time to set our bags down and leave again. Not really long enough to inspect the room. When we returned after a very long day we opened the door and were met with a slight smell of wet dog I left the window open during the day when we weren't there to air it out but that didn't work. To top it all off the smell got stronger after someone took a shower and the room was a little steamy. The furniture was a little dated but there have been updates to the bed spreads lamps etc. The TV's are not centered in the room so if you have two beds really only on bed can see the TV while laying. Breakfast was good except my son had hair in his food and in more that one place. He had decided on sausage and found a hair so he tossed that and went to get a pastry and that also had a hair on it. Needless to say he would only eat things that were prepackaged and sealed the rest of the time we were there which limited him to yogurt and apples. The staff were very nice the room is larger since this is an all suites hotel. When I checked out of the hotel I asked if the room was a pet friendly room or not and was told it was. I let her know that the smell was that of a wet dog and she apologized for it at that time. I'm surprised that the housekeeping staff doesn't smell that. There pet friendly rooms definitely need a deep clean. I am not sure if we will stay again. If we do then I will ask for a non pet friendly room. « less

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. All comments are helpful for us to constantly evaluate the service and product we are providing. I’m sorry to hear you thought the forest scene behind the desk was odd, did you happen to find Sasquatch? We move him around daily as a fun “Where’s Waldo” type game for people checking in.
I was disturbed to hear about the smell in your room. We are pet friendly but we do a more thorough cleaning on those rooms as a result. Unfortunately we have a lot of guests that sneak in pets so sometimes it’s difficult to track. I will certainly pass along your comments to our housekeeping department though so we can keep a better eye on that.
Finally I apologize regarding the quality of the food you encountered in our breakfast room. We pride ourselves on having one of the fullest selections, but none of that matters if food isn’t stored properly. I assure you this will be immediately rectified. I hope that you’ll come back and see us. We are getting new flat screen tv’s as we speak and are looking forward to some other updates in the coming months.
Thank you again.
