Hotel is typical for Embassy Suite. Hotel was clean but dated. Cooked to order breakfast is included at the hotel but their operation is lacking in service from most Embassy Suites. Parking is expensive and limited. There are some good restaurants in walking distant around the hotel. The manager's afternoon happy hour is lacking in service and snacks. Service at this hotel is below par for Embassy Suite. This is in every department (check in; breakfast service, afternoon manager's happy hour). The best service was from the valet in parking my vehicle and having it ready for me when I called them. These were the only people who were friendly at this hotel. The rest of the staff seems to be unhappy with their jobs. Their attitude was why are you here and do it yourself. The breakfast people were rude and you feel like you are in an institution and should be glad that you are getting food. They also do not know or care how to cook eggs. For an Embassy Suite, this service is below par. I have been to many different Embassy Suite hotels and this breakfast service is the worst that I have seen. It would appear that management is lacking at this location « less

I loved the location of this hotel. We walked around the Harbor Shops and had a great dinner at Gilberts. No taxi or car needed when staying here! The pool area was beautiful! We left for a cruise the next morning. I didn't think it was chaotic at all. Maybe we beat the chaos by leaving early. Do NOT take the hotel provided shuttle. I think it's $8 per person. The same shuttle that takes passengers to the Port gave us a price of $35 for 9 of us! We planned on taking a taxi and would have needed 3 of them so this way it was about the same price and we all stayed together. I got this hotel through Hotwire for a great price. I emailed the hotel about getting a port view room and non smoking. That is exactly what I got! Great customer service! « less

I stayed here for only one night pre-cruise but it was really nice. The hotel itself is beautiful! The lobby and buffet area with the glass ceilings, water features, and plants in the atrium are really really pretty. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The pool was also nice and had a small waterfall. This hotel was close to the cruise port and if you walk outside on the balcony on the back of the hotel you can see the ships come in. This is a great place to stay before or after a cruise especially if you don't have a car with you. The hotel shuttle picked us up from the airport and we could walk from the hotel to any number of restaurants or bars. The breakfast buffet was also very good. So I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean and convenient place to stay. « less

My wife and I stayed at this property before and after a cruise. While we have stayed here before, I must say the chaos in the lobby area was the worse. We arrived at the hotel about noon returning from our cruise; what a mess in the lobby area. There were only two staff members checking people in and out; and one lady was very grumpy and rude. In addition, the transportation desk was right next to the front desk which took away check in stations. Our suite was not ready (we assumed it wouldn't be), so we checked our bags in and found a place to eat in a strip mall across the street. At about 3PM, we finally got to our room (nice view of the cruise port area). The suite had a very stale, almost smokey smell; I called the front desk because I didn't want to get charged for smoking in the room. A housekeeper was at my door in less than five minutes with the Febreze. We were offered another room, but the spray worked. A little later I got a call from the front desk to please stop by before dinner. We received a $25.00 certificate for dining in the hotel restuarant. The rooms were typical Embassy Suites flavor. The following morning, breakfast was great, just crowded with cruisers. After breakfast, we got a taxi pretty quick to the airport for our trip home. Again just like yesterday, very chaotic in the lobby area. Bottomline, stay there Fri-Sun if you are going on a cruise (great package--airport pickup, cruise terminal dropoff, or even car parking while cruising), just be ready for the chaos; otherwise consider another property for a Fri-Sun stay...unless you don't mind the chaos! « less
