I stayed here 2 nights this week b/c i was in town for a business purpose. Upon arrival, i was greeted immediately and the girl was very professional and accomodating. she asked if i had a floor preference and how many keys i wanted...little things, but things ive never been asked before. usually they just do their normal routine unless you specify something different. the lobby was very well updated and they had snacks, drinks and alcholic beverages available for purchase. Free wifi that was very easy to axcess, as well. The lobby area smells really good, too. Upon entering the room i was very impressed with the layout. There was a large couch (although not all that comfortable) with a leather automin(sp?), a desk, a mini frige, a large vanity, a nice walk in shower and a huge plazma TV. The shower head had great pressure. The pillows were comfortable. The mattress was average. The location was convienent. There were a couple of things keeping my stay a 4 star instead of a 5 star...may not effect you, but worth mentioning...
-Since the hotel is SO close to the expressway, the noise is pretty bad. i woke up several times the first night b/c of honking and screaching noises. i would DEFINITELY suggest requesting a room that faces the back. i am not even that sensitive to noise at night. -The coffee was not ready until 7, which i think is late. i wake up around 5:30. and it was also terrible. -The channel selection was less than satisfactory. There are only 34 channels. a few are the hotel info channels, there were at least 5 news channels and at least 5 ESPN channels. i was very unhappy that none of my regular channels (lifetime, MTV and HDTV) were available. You may wonder why this was so important? When you are traveling completely alone with no family or friends to do anything with after work, I was relying on TV for my entertainment. « less

I called in advance after reading trip advisor reviews and Jamie selected a great room for me that was in a quiet location on the 4th floor. Upon arrival I asked for a few items and they were quickly delivered to my room. The entire staff is friendly and made me feel very welcome during my 4 night stay. The shuttle was nice and convenient and the drivers were also prompt and very friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was good. The pool was open and warm. Only downside in the room was the AC is an in room unit that ran loudly all night, it was not central AC. The continental breakfast daily was an extra plus. This was my first trip to the area, overall a great stay. I would stay there again on my next trip and highly suggest this hotel. « less

We were there for a State Swim Meet and it was great! We had a very large room with a fridge/wet bar, large sofa, desk, sitting area, large flat screen tv, well kept property, and located in a nice area. The breakfast was terriffic and healthy (not junk like in some places). We had juices/milk and it even included tomato and vegetable juice. There were various fruits, cereals, breads, oatmeal, yogurts with toppings, and egg breakfast sandwhiches too. We were close to the natatorium and restaurants just a short drive or walk away. Walmart, CVS, and other shopping was close by. Very nice and clean. Wi-fi throughout too! « less

Stayed week of Dec 3 2012. Rooms clean, beds comfy. Breakfast standard American continental - better than average. Good size tv in room. Easy highway access, and many accommodations close by. Workout center has a few cardio machines - bring your own music, as the hotel pumps in elevator style music and the built in TVs barely worked. The Cardio machines were of pretty good quality.
2 warnings: Half the rooms face the Dallas Parkway and get a fair amount of highway noise (ask for room facing other side). The Texas styled restaurant next door is not so good. Obviously not the hotel's fault.

I've stayed at many hotels in my life. The Hyatt Place - Plano, TX is by far one of the best. One thing about Hyatt Place brand is you always know what to expect with room designs, hotel services, breakfast and even fresh fragrance (which apparently has a specific name). But what sends Hyatt Plano over the top is the exceptional service from this staff, specifically.
They certainly hire well for the hospitality gene, with all roles. I've yet to meet one of their staff members who don't greet with a smile and friendly welcome -- including maintenance staff. That typically starts with the leadership, or GM of the hotel in this case and how the staff is managed and trained. You can't fake the type of sincere service and friendliness the staff exhibits at this hotel. They also balance the friendliness with professionalism. Their rooms and common areas are always exceptionally clean and well maintained.
I've used their conference room facility on many occasions. It's a good size and good for both seminar and training seating. The staff was always very accommodating with preparation, technology, room temperature and meeting materials.
Location is great right on the Dallas North Tollway within a mile from the George Bush Tollway, and only a few miles from Hwy 121. Free shuttle within 5 miles gets you to many really nice restaurants and entertainment. The Shops at Legacy, which houses many incredible restaurants, is only a couple of exits up the Tollway. There is also a Saltgrass steakhouse restaurant next door. Although the hotel now provides a reasonable menu of meals, drinks and desserts 24/7. A full-service grocery store (Tom Thumb) and other casual dining and coffee shops (Starbucks) is in walking distance from the hotel - or use the shuttle.
I've evaluated a number of hotels in this area for business. The personalize, professional and welcomed experience at this hotel sends this hotel into the 5 stars (or circles) level. Highly recommended! « less
