I stayed here for a recent business trip with colleagues. This is my second time staying here and I think it may become my regular choice. The rooms are clean and updated. The lobby is very modern and inviting with a wine happy hour each evening. Upon arriving, there is no front desk. You are invited to sit in lounge chairs or on couches while the staff take your info and enter it at their check in kiosk. There was free wifi for us, I assume that is a normal thing.
The bathroom was very nice with a walk in shower, not a tub. The shampoos/conditioners/lotions were very high end and the AC worked very well. The valet was very quick and polite.
You are also within a few hundred yards down the street from Chateau Marmont for your celebrity viewing pleasure. There is also a Starbucks between the hotel and the Marmont if you need the caffeine.
Since traffic is bad in LA no matter which time you drive, I will gladly battle the traffic if this is the hotel I will come back to nightly. « less

Jet lagged and over whelmed by Los Angeles we arrived and greated by the lovely Walter ipad to the ready checked us in, asked what we had in mind doing for the few days before we joined our cruise ship, sorted out transport for Disneyland and trip to the ship, thoroughly enjoyed the saddle bar next door, with the cowboy coming through the wall, meals very tasty very friendly atmosphere the only downside to the hotel was the price of the breakfast next morning $66.00 for two so totally filled up, then ate in the local McDonald's before joining the ship, here after. Over all lovely experience friendly people wonderful pool drink prices a bit steep! Would recommend to family and friends though. « less

Normally, you can judge the quality of the hotel in the first 5 minutes. And this hotel is not an exception. We've arrived very tired after the 16 hour flight from Dubai, so what we wanted the most is to go to sleep as soon as possible. The host at the reception was very helpful and friendly. It took us no more than 5 minutes to check-in and get to our room with an amazing view of LA.
Room is not luxurious, but clean and as I've mentioned before has an amazing view if you have windows facing the Sunset strip. My girlfriend loved it. Restaurant on the ground floor is good, but a bit overpriced, so we had only breakfast there since it was free for me as a diamond member. Otherwise I would suggest exploring any of multiple options around the hotel. We particularly liked the Saddle Ranch right next door.
So to summarise, it's a very cosy boutique hotel with friendly staff and very convenient location. Would definitely stay there again when I travel next time to LA. « less

We stayed at the Andaz at the end of a month long RV tour of California before flying home to England. Upon arrival staff were welcoming and helpful. We were early so we left our bags and went to get some lunch and the staff called us once our room was ready. When we returned we were delighted to find we'd been upgraded to a Queen Suite. The room was huge and featured great views down Sunset as well as two Bathrooms and 4 TVs (which the kids were very happy about!). We didn't eat or have breakfast in the Hotel so can't comment on the food. However we did spend some time up at the rooftop pool which was beautiful, had great views out over LA and featured lovely, comfortable loungers and covered sofas. All in all I'd recommend the Andaz highly. It just misses out on 5-stars as it doesn't have a Hotel Bar. There's a bar up on the roof by the pool but that closes at sunset so if, like me you want somewhere inside the hotel to go and sit with a drink once the kids are in bed you're out of luck. A shame as everything else about the place (including the Saddle Ranch next door) was excellent « less

Arrived at the Andaz after a long drive and we were welcomed by Walther - "sit down have a drink..." we were checked in on the sofa via an iPad. Walther made every effort to find out what we wanted from our stay in Hollywood and gave us a full run down of the 'home from home' style of the hotel, free drinks (coffee, juices, water, wine etc) he even asked us what sort of room we would like. We asked for a view of the houses on the Hollywood Hills and the room we got was perfect.
Walther sent us a bottle of wine, and a cheese slate with crackers and grapes as we were celebrating our wedding in Vegas, together with a card congratulating us!! This was a lovely touch and much enjoyed. Subsequently we were able to ask Walther anything and nothing was too much trouble - he even located a 'Pub' where we could watch a football game.
We used the rooftop pool and bar several times as the weather was fabulous. No charge for the beds and Cabanas, which was a rare treat after the other hotels we had stayed in. Matt the barman was great company and very good at his job.
We cannot recommend this Hotel and the staff highly enough - it was a wonderful stay and we would definitely go back. « less
