The Chateau Resort and Conference Center is a true supporter of the Pocono Mountains community. Their General Manager and staff operate a professional and beautiful facility and assists local agencies when group functions are needed. The facility, food and customer service have always exceeded expectations and I would highly recommend this venue for both visiting guests to the Poconos and special events. Being located within close proximity to Camelback Ski Area, Camel Beach Water Park, the Crossings Shopping Outlet and Mt. Airy Resort and Casino makes the Chateau a premier destination in the Pocono Mountains. « less

This place wouldn't have been so bad if it was at least cleaned properly. There was an empty beer can just under my bed from the previous occupants. Who knows how long it was there. People across the hall had room service breakfast and the tray was sitting in the hall (food exposed) for 48 hours! Most of the public spaces needed cleaning. The service in the restaurant was not so great either; if you're not going to write down our order, then at least get it right! The one shining moment of our 2 night stay was the hot stone massage we received from Tara! While the facility doesn't have an actual spa (they use a hotel room for the spa); who really cares when you get such a fantastic massage! « less

I stayed at this hotel last weekend with a fraternity from our college. I was absolutely astonished with how disrespectful the hotel was towards our group. I understand, we're all younger, but we are ADULTS. They treated us inhuman at best and our service was less than satisfactory. They refused to offer us single-bed rooms and then put elderly guests in our fraternity wing, who were, of course, not willing to deal with us students. The second night we stayed there they put security in our hallway to "keep an eye on us". We're not 14, we're 21-24. The attitudes we received from staff the entire weekend was rude and unnecessary and at one point, I was INTERROGATED by a maintenance member, asking if I was going to be loud, rowdy, and reckless as I was heading back to my room.
I would NEVER recommend this resort to anyone under the age of 40. I had a horrible experience there and I, and every Greek organization I have contact with, will NEVER attend this resort again. I'd rather stay at a Holiday Inn. « less

Nic0le 717-
Thanks for your candid review. I have to say there is never a cause for a team member to be rude and take great pains to assure that it doesn't happen. If you have specifics, I would love to hear them so I can address it properly.
As to your concerns.
Single bed vs double bed rooms are negotiated at the time of the contract. Your group negotiated double beds.
The older guest that was moved to your section was done so at their request because they needed a first floor room close to the lobby. They were aware of the fact they would be in a section with a younger group and accepted the additional noise level. Even when we checked on them the second day of their stay, they were ok with their room choice. I too was concerned about their location.
Also, additional outside security is standard with all fraternities and sororities on the evenings of the social event, please don't take that as an insult, rather a precaution for all of our guests sake and safety.
In hindsight, I would have had the additional security on the first evening because of the damage that was done to the hotel. Nothing major, but ceiling tiles and exit lights pulled down, holes put in walls, light fixtures broken all may have been avoided. I do appreciate your group reimbursing us for the damage, but would rather not have it to begin with. I am sure the maintenance man that had to repair the unnecessary damage felt similar.
Again, I hope you don't take that as disrespectful. In speaking with your group leaders, they indicated everyone had a good time.
As a side note, to anyone that is still reading. My response may sound like the resort may not be a place where you can have fun because of the overbearing security OR a place where you can get sleep because of the rowdy groups and damage being done. We again take great pains in creating a balance of enjoyable atmosphere paired with friendly service and safe comfortable conditions for all our guests. I hope this review and response does not characterize the resort in any other light.

We stayed for a 3 day convention & many of us brought our families. I must say that it was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and on point even when there were minor issues. They attended to our every need even on a spur of the moment changes, The food was scrumptious (breakfast, lunch & dinner), The views are spectacular. The location is central to everything. They offer activities for the kids. Pam, Carmen & Paul were always there to make sure our needs were taken care of. Rebecca & all the staff are #1 with Customer Service. Evelyn is the best bartender and Hector was a gem. Not enough can be said about the place. Great Place for a Great Value. We are coming again. « less

"hank you! I will definitely be recommending your service to others I know. It made the confusing task of booking a hotel block easy as pie! I can't imagine how tedious it would have been to call each of the hotels- and who would want to when they all competed for our business instead? :)" C.T. - San Marcos, CA
"We are all set and thank you for your assistance. I found working with your site was very easy to set up and work very well for our guests. The plus of using your site was that it made it very easy for our guests to book at our choice hotel." G.B. - Danbury, CT
