We spent only one night at the W this trip, but it was enjoyable. We had our Dachshund with us; the hotel makes pets very welcome, supplying a pet bed, food bowl, and "Woof" welcome mat. They will also provide Room Service for the dog, which we did not use, but it's a cute idea. Michael the Belllman went out of his way to ensure that our arrival and our brief stay were superb. He became our dog's 'best friend' at the hotel. A city park two blocks east on Seneca became our dog's favorite haunt for 'relief.' The W has an excellent location within easy walking distance of great retail, e.g., Nordstrom, and numerous restaurants. The Lobby Bar was a friendly place to socialize and hang out briefly, although a bit expensive. The one thing I did not like, and do not like in hotels at all, is their charging for WiFi in the guest room. This is a 'commodity' service for today's leisure or business traveler, and its cost can easily be built into or absorbed by a modest indrease in room rate. I have been in the hotel business in one capacity or another for over 40 years, so I know what I am talking about. Charging for WiFi falls into the "nickel-and-diming" category, and guests do not like that at all. « less

Attended a conference in hotel so decided to stay here. Rooms are nice with the window seat, a nice touch. Service is fabulous! My daughter was ill and the staff were amazing accommodating her needs. Food is ok but could use a broader selection. Lounge is ok but Monaco has a better one in Sazerac just across the Street. A good business hotel and I would stay here again. « less

I like this hotel. I like the location, I like the food, I like the lobby remodel. However, it is on the spendy side and for the money you pay, things should be perfect. They are not quite there. The lobby is nice and a good place to actually hang out. You might want to turn the music down a little. I don't hang out in the lobby, I go to my room. The room is a little banged up, marks on the walls, lampshade a little beat, etc. The desks are usable for real work and the chair is comfortable to work in. The little window seat is nice.
They need a full service restaurant. One that has more than a Tapas menu. « less

It's been a while since we've stayed at the W in Seattle and it hasn't changed. Still the same dark, trendy looks, subdued lighting, and nice high-tech touches. Loved the lobby bar area, the fireplaces, and the bedrooms - very smart, clean with everything that we needed. The "not good" - paying for Wi-Fi in a hotel of this standard really doesn't make sense - the term "nickel and dime" comes to mind. The other not good was a customer service aspect that really surprised us: leaving the hotel in a rush, we asked the front desk to have the car brought around from valet parking. Instead of "certainly sir", we were educated on the Hotel's organization and geography, and the fact that Valet parking was outside and round the corner and we could ask them for the car.... Not what I would have expected from W. Unfortunately Customer service like this make an excellent hotel "average". « less

The W hotels have a good standard and the W Seattle is no different. The hotel is fairly new and the facilities look great and very modern. My girlfriend then, wife now, loved the relaxing bathtub and salts. The bed and sheets are excellent and, if not for so many things to do in town, we would have spent more time in that awesome bed. Location is great, right in the middle of the action, although maybe a few too many blocks, for most, to the traditional Seattle attractions (market, needle, etc.). Yet, public transportation or taxi works fine. Lots of good restaurants in the vicinities. One annoying thing, the buzzing techno music is everywhere in the hotel. From the lobby (a bit too loud there) to the room corridors, commons bathrooms.. everywhere. It's specially ridiculous when combined to a funny dark light that made me feel in some suspicious dark illegal establishment... And, you don't go there with your family either. Cut the music off please. Oh, almost missed the arrogant "way too cool" people at the front desk that were borderline out of line until I straightened them up during check-in. « less
