We stayed from May 5 to May 12 there was four guys on a fishing trip unfortunately our fishing trip was on successful but as for the hotel yes there is major construction going on as it was bought out by Sandos And Sandos is putting in major renovations to this resort the location of this resort is awesome you are at the end of the world unfortunately there is no swimming strong riptides but beautiful to watch and relax by the ocean . The hotel staff was remarkably fantastic, there was not a moment that there was not somebody catering to you cleaning up after you. The room I was in was 308 was very clean and spotless could use a little bit of modern but I'm sure that will follow as the VIP rooms are being finished now . Yes you did hear the jackhammer Skil saw power tools machinery but they are trying their best not to interfere with your all day. As we watch these workers work without power tools breaking bricks ,mix cement by hand it is remarkable the results at the end of the day that these men have Accomplished Without the aid of Power tools . I would recommend this place I believe this place would probably hold 500 to 700 people as we were only 15 people at the pool at any given time the place was not filled must be the low season As I mentioned Sandos is doing a major renovation they are not doing a cheap paint over they are sanding everything down to the stone grinding every brick back down To its original look I would recommend this place when it's finished it's an awesome location and an awesome place thank you « less

We just spent 10 days at the Sandos Hotel Finisterra and we loved every minute. We just wanted to relax and enjoy the sun and this was the place to do it. Our room was beautiful, a Jr. Suite, and it was clean and had a lovely view. I know some people on this site have said the hot water was hard to come by but we had more than we needed. Always had a nice long shower at the end of the day and we never ran out of hot water. Also, I think they have fixed the wifi problem because we could get it at the pools and in our room. No problem with that. This was our first all-inclusive stay in Cabo and this place knows how to do it right. The food and it's presentation was fantastic. Every meal was excellent right from the buffet for breakfast, to the lunches we had at the pool, and dinners in the beautiful Don Diego and Blue Marlin restaurants. These restaurants are as nice as any 5 star restaurant we have been in and the food was as good. The service was unbelievable and everyone is so nice! We felt like they were all our family by the time we left. A special thank you to Abraham who made sure we always had food to eat or a drink in hand at the pool. A very nice young man with a great smile. Also, thank you to Crazy Joe, Fernada, and Angelo for keeping the entertainment going at the pool. You are all great. Also, thank you to Angel, the security person at the pool. He was willing to help with anything at anytime and with a great smile. Thank you to Emma....you gave me the best massage I have had in a long time! It was wonderful! I don't want to forget the waiters and hostesses at the restaurants. Thank you to Jesus, Tania, Betza, Fred, and Kelly! All of you made this a wonderful trip for us and we will be back! « less

First of all, I could care less about the construction. It's necessary to improve the grounds. When I read the negative comments, I realize that people are either going in with expectations that are too high, or they are just grumpy people and need to relax. I've been to Mexico well over 100 times, mostly for work, but this was for a relaxing 40th birthday with my wife. We found our experience to be one of the best ever. For starters, unlike MOST other resorts in Mexico or other exotic locations they were NOT pushy in trying to sell us something we didn't want (like a timeshare, etc.). The staff was pleasant and courteous. We were met by Jorge who explained our options for activities, restaurants, etc. He was kind and helpful...and NOT pushy. Alvaro took us to our room and he was helpful, and offered ideas for night life, etc. When we checked in we were pleasantly surprised with a ground level suite that had a tremendous view of the Pacific, as well as a nice little patio for us to enjoy some tunes while listening to the waves crash. Yes the room is outdated a little bit with it's furnishings, but I didn't go to Mexico to sit in my room. Who cares if they don't have flat screen TVs? They are upgrading and then you'll be able to waste all the time you want in your room while the rest of us are enjoying the beautiful scenery. One of our most pleasant experiences was with our pool waiter Abraham. He was consistent, helpful, and very fast...he was very friendly, he remembered it was my birthday and wished me happy birthday on my day. We made sure we sat in his section each day we were there. The drinks were strong and delicious, and he kept them coming. Unlike other resorts where the service has been poor, we were taking great care of. The Blue Marlin also had great service, very great food, and we enjoyed the atmosphere very much. While it was nice and relaxing for us that the resort was not busy, I hope that business picks up in the future. We will be back for sure. The location to the marina area and downtown is second to none. We had a great time and want to thank the staff for your hospitality. We can't wait for our next visit. I almost forgot...we got a wonderful massage on the beach from Emma who was TERRIFIC! That is highly recommended! « less

Bed was rock hard, lumpy and dirty... no kidding the floor is more comfortable and it is tile! I am not kidding. Room was full of Mosquitoes, I kept killing them they kept coming. I am sure they were coming from the A/C Vent. I complained to the staff they explained to me that my trip next year would be better since they were renovating. UMMM NO THANK YOU! Construction was all over the hotel, pool, and surrounding areas. NO peace, no quiet, and no discounts or notice ahead of time that we would not be going to the hotel in the pictures. Don't be fooled. There are lots of choices. Side note: Enrique's Sport fishing was bad, they stole my fish that they promised to keep frozen for me. They said I could have fish from someone elses trip so I am thinking that is common practice for them. « less
