We had a family reunion there. Some other members of our family had stayed there in the past and wanted the family to stay there for the annual family reunion. It is a little more expensive than we are used to $728.37 for 3 nights. It was a Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. The room was comfortable and clean. The food at the restaurant on premise is good and reasonably priced. The best part for us is the fact that they are so dog friendly because we like to travel with our pets. There are chimaneas on the bluffs and they light fires in them at sunset each night. Be fore warned it is often a little breezy because of the wind coming off of the bluffs. There is beach access and great views. Some of our families went on tours of Hearst Castle which is very close. One suggestion I would give you is to purchase a room package which includes your breakfasts. You can order anything on the menu and as long as it is $16.50 or less it is covered by you voucher. We did leave a seperate tip. The spa and pool are fenced in with a glass fence to protect you from the wind and the pool is heated. All in all we had a very nice stay and considering the quality and location I assume the price was in line. Oh, and they have room service too. « less

The room had a funky smell, tiny toilet and dirty looking shaggy carpet and no air conditioning. It was stuffy. The sad thing is that this is probably the best in San Simeon. If I came back stay in another town with a proper hotel and drive to Hearst castle. The "premier" part of it is just a few more toiletries. In stead of lighting fires by the beach and other useless things the management should change the carpeting. The silly fireplace just made the room smaller. The restaurant is okay. « less

My wife and I spent one night here a few weeks ago so that we could tour Hearst Castle. Probably the nicest Best Western we've ever stayed in. We had the nicest room in the place, It was a full on ocean front room with a fireplace. The room was very clean and nice. We did order room service from the restaurant. The service was quick and the food was good. It was still about $300 per night, but worth it for the views and privacy. « less

My husband and I decided to drive up the coast on PCH1 from Dana Point to SFO for our wedding anniv. This was our first stop. Beautiful place, lovely, friendly people, perfect! We were able to drive up and park right in front of our corner room 126 on the ground level, right in front of the ocean (see my pics). We could hear the lapping waves all night long, so romantic! I am a professional travel agent and have stayed in many, many hotels all over the world and never have I seen such amenities! Nail polish remover, sand off feet remover and make up remover cloths too! Absolutely amazing amenities, there was nothing lacking! The bed too was very comfortable. Next morning we ordered room service breakfast, eggs and toast for 2 was just $20. We walked along the ocean in front of our room and took some great pictures and went on our way to Hearst castle. Highly recommend this hotel as a stop in the area or just a romantic weekend. « less
