I stayed at Peppers Seaport and the Hotel Charles so thought it might be useful to compare them as two of the leading hotels in Launceston. Peppers provides a good, neat room. It was a clean and modern, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Basically both Peppers and Hotel Charles have their advantages. For Peppers, its the space. The rooms (at least the one I stayed in) was much bigger than the Hotel Charles which would have been pretty cramped had been travelling with my wife. There's a variety of restaurants, overlooking the marina is better than looking onto other buildings and the walk into town isn't that far (it's closer than Hotel Charles, which is quite a distance) I would be more than happy to stay at either. « less

I arrived at 12 noon with sick on me from a flight. I asked the receptionist I could was she said "no sorry we're full"I said that surely rooms were free as check out was 10am. She still refused. I stripped and washed in the lobby toilet. And got changed. I later complained to reception they said.m"it's policy we're full". Rubbish! You are not full after check out, 5 mins would have been more dignified. I stay here a lot for work, I will stay at the grand chancellor next time « less

I stayed one night here on a business trip & booked a suite, which provided the perfect space for a business meeting. The one bedroom was clean, spacious & comfortable. If you choose to stay here I suggest you booked a room overlooking the marina. My room, overlooking the road was noisy and by 6am I was awake with the traffic. A few selected restaurants to choose from on the wharf, but otherwise you need a car to get around. I would stay here again but only next time book a room on the opposite side « less

Stayed here for three days in a river view suite. Could not fault a thing. The room was huge and very well decorated. Also extremely clean with plenty of towels and pillows. I never had to ask housekeeping for anything. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.all the restaurants down stairs were excellent. We loved getting coffee and cake and taking back to our room. Would only stay here on future visits. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thank you « less
