Stayed at GVZ on three separate occasions in three different rooms. All rooms were spotlessly clean, great design, comfortable beds and pillows, large bathrooms...All staff were polite and friendly. We chose to stay at this hotel regardless of its location, which is about a 10 minute drive from the main part of town. We had a rental car so its location was not an issue. If you were walking into town, it would be a good 30-40 minute walk depending on your fitness. Close by is a large shopping centre and also DFO stores though you would still need a car I think. We didn't take any public transport from this hotel into town, so I cannot comment on that. The hotel offers a shuttle bus service to and from the airport.
The hotel has a large carpark area. Reception is on Level 2 and when you walk into the building, there is a small foyer where you can either take the stairs up to level 2, or take the elevator. Funny thing though was that the elevator only had a 'down' button, not one going up ? However, once you stepped inside, there was a button for level 2.
If you are a light sleeper, the rooms facing the inner courtyard are the way to go. The rooms facing the street have truck noise all through the night, as of course, you are in a commercial/industrial area. There are large glass doors which close off the accommodation rooms from the reception/dining area which also helps for a quiet night, if they are kept closed of a night time.
For anyone staying at GVZ or anywhere in Ingolstadt for that matter, I can highly recommend to eat at the Audi complex which is nearby, either in Audi's Market Restaurant (self service) or the Avus Restaurant. Great food at very good prices in a unique setting. There is also a bar/lounge available.
One issue that I need to mention during our stay, is that two of our rooms had drainage issues. One room had a really strong smell coming out of the shower drain, which I didn't notice until the morning of checkout when I went to have a shower, as it was only obvious once you stepped into the shower recess.
In another room on another night's stay, there was a faint smell as soon as we walked into our room, however as we were just going in there to drop off our luggage before going straight back out again, I thought the smell wouldn't be there when we got back in later that night. When we returned later, my husband went straight to bed as he was feeling unwell. This time however I went to reception to make them aware of this issue as the smell was still there throughout the room. I chose not to ask them for a room change as it was late, we had settled in already and so decided to stay in this room as it was only for the one night. I found that there was a blockage in the ensuite sink as it took forever to drain and the smell got worse the more you used the sink (which was a bit hard not to do !), and the next morning I noticed water spurting out from the pipe underneath the sink. This room was one facing the street, so the smell as well as the truck noise through the night was a bit of a challenge ! On checkout the next morning, new reception staff were on duty who again were very apologetic and they offered a room change, however it was only a one night stay ? If it had just been me staying in this room that night, I would have asked reception for a room change no question, however I didn't want to make a fuss with my husband being unwell.
On our third stay there a short time later, our next room was as it should be, with no smells and no noise !! I still give this hotel four stars as it is a good, very clean, modern hotel...maintenance issues can be fixed. « less

If you are passing through with a singular focus towards the Audi factory then this is the place to be. If you have business in or near Audi then again, this is a great place to stay. The Audi factory is a 15 minute walk away, taxis arrive in a few minutes with a quick call by reception. To get in to the main city it was about a 15 minute drive. We saw buses regularly in the area also. There were a number of car park lots very near the hotel. Being in an industrial area there are no shops, eateries or stores near by, although the Audi factory has great food choices. The room was very big and had a plush-industrial feel with electrical window and blind treatments. Very clean and felt very new all over. Large bathroom with a shower stall to match. Large, comfortable bed. The photos of the rooms on the hotel’s website are accurate. Enjoyed the breakfast. Medium sized buffet and all choices were fresh and tasty. Dinners were a convenient choice with a hot option available that changed each night and a few sides. The food was complimentary and guests only pay for drinks. Otherwise we took a taxi into the city for a greater variety. Staff were very helpful, professional and friendly. I would certainly recommend this hotel for people with business near by. « less

good: - spacious rooms - furniture in good shape - Internet connection for only 1 Euro - close to GVZ and Audi car manufacturer
not so good: - totally overpriced (paid 110 EUR which made me expect more than an average motel) - very slow service staff, plan to wait for everything - at the heart of an industrial area, trucks all night long - nonetheless too far away from the Audi plant, you will have to take a taxi and the driver will complain because of the short route - « less
