The location of this place was great -blocks from the beach and great shopping. A grocery store nearby let us stock our room with staples like yogurt and bread (yay for cost cutting, we're still poor students.) The rooms were TINY though. We originally rented a "suite" with a few friends that was supposed to house six people, which couldn't possibly have been the case unless we were all about 2.5 feet tall. Advice -if you're thinking of sharing a room with others, either get very friendly or just suck it up and pay more for separate rooms. The breakfast was alright, nothing to write home about, but passable. Overall, great location is a good reason to pick this hotel. The price wasn't terrible either -I believe we payed around $100 per night for our room. « less

The hotel is consistently a great value for the Waikiki area Economical room pricing plus the bonus of a breakfast buffet has now become hard to find but at this hotel. Beds are comfortable and updated. Rooms are spacious and have always found them in good repair although dated but not neglected. Location is great one block walk to The Bus and trolley transportation, three blocks to Waikiki beach. Managers reception on Tuesday evenings is a great touch, keep it up Tim. Looking forward to my next stay at the Aloha Surf. « less

The room (1st floor) was dirty, hairs everywhere. Very noisy, I couldn't sleep for a week. No windows to close. Every word of the people in the next room can be heard. The connecting door is bad. The room is much too small for the price. Shower temerature is changing from cold to very hot very quickly. Fitness area is a joke. Pool is a joke. Breakfast is a joke. I never ever would recommend this hotel. « less

Chose this hotel based on reasonable price and proximity to Convention Center. Everything about our stay exceeded my expectations- very good, hot breakfast each morning, extremely comfortable beds (I wish I had looked what kind of mattress it was, I want to buy one!), almost no street noise (granted, I was on 14th floor), nice balcony, and very clean rooms. Most importantly, the staff was overly accomodating for our every request- including holding our bags after checkout and being willing to split up our bill several ways as requested by our university finance department. No wifi in rooms but the ethernet cord worked fine and provided very fast internet connection. I felt very welcome here and appreciated the hospitality. Would definitely stay here again. « less
