Dear guest, The Sainte-Rose Hotel has a great location and we thank you for confirming this information. The hotel has been partially refurbished in 2010 and we plan to renovate the other part of the building this winter, probably that would improve the comfort for all. The Lourdes driving senses change every 15 days so that it could be complicated to find the car park, so we apologize but it’s hard to improve this point. No rave reviews about this hotel, everything about it (service, rooms, breakfast, price) were nothing special. We had a quadruple room, which was an ok size and clean, but with foam beds! The staff were hit and miss, when we arrived we were given our key and shown the elevator and thats it, no info about breakfast or check out of internet or anything. Some staff were ok, whilst others obviously did not like non French-speaking tourists! Don't have breakfast - it was even worse than all the bad cafes you find in the area. And the worst thing, you can only get wi-fi in the lobby area, not in the rooms. I'm sure it's not an issue for most of the visitors in Lourdes but I am of a much younger generation who needs constant internet access! « less

Ideal Location: 3 minutes to the Domain and to the St Frai Hospital makes this an ideal hotel for both pilgrim and helper whilst in Lourdes, unfortuately this hotel is close to two of the main bars in Lourdes and therefore it can be quite noisy until around 2am. Rooms: Basic but clean, the hotel is gradually being refurnished. Excellent communal areas including meeting room, large bar and covered terrace. Restaurant: Breakfast : good selection , served early for helpers going on shift. Food normally of an excellent standard , good buffet available. Staff: Helpful and friendly. The hotel manager is very accommodating assisting and solving any problems encountered. Check in no matter what time day or night you arrive quick and easy, have found if there is a problem with a room which is very rare , this is sorted out straight away if able . Was surprised to see Restaurant Manager described as fearsome as she is a lovely friendly lady. Night bar staff friendly and helpful. i have stayed with a large group of friends at the St Rose twice a year for the last 10 years, and even though i have stayed at a wide variety of other hotels in Lourdes, the St Rose is still my favourite. « less

We were a large group of medical & nursing care teams within a >800 person pilgrimage to Lourdes. We stayed for 6 nights. All meals were self service in the buffet restaurant, there was also another restaurant within the hotel. The room I shared was large with 2 double beds, on the 4th floor. No toiletries were included except for a tiny bar of soap. The bathroom had a folding plastic door which had a broken catch so did not close, which was a problem as I was sharing the room with a stranger from the same pilgrimage. There was no air-conditioning in this supposedly recently modernised (!) hotel so the windows had to be kept open, but the windows opened towards the street below, from which came the raucous noise from a very very popular bar in the next street. Singing & laughter could be heard clearly until closing time at 2 a.m. every night. Self service buffet food in the hotel included potato dishes (usually chips every day), pasta, rice, hard boiled eggs & cold meats every day. The daily main meat dish of the day was either chicken wings, half a chicken escallope, unidentifiable fish or gristley beef. Nothing was labelled so a lot of guessing took place. Very little for vegetarians as even rice & pasta dishes contained ham or tuna. Most vegetables were mushy & chopped into a white sauce with added meat. It was tepid, & not up to 3 star standard. The manageress was fearsome & brusquely moved people on. Meals were at half hourly sittings, so no time allowed for remaining at table. At no time was I offered the chance to order any extras e.g. wine or beer with the meal. Tea, coffee & orange juice came self service from a machine. The night bar staff were helpful & friendly, & also served fantastic hot chocolate drinks. The hotel's position was ideal being near to the gate to the basilicas & grotto. If given a choice, I would never use this hotel again. It does not deserve its 3 stars. « less
