The Hotel Hochfilzer is a family friendly, Tyrolean style residence spread over two buildings set in the centre of the Ellmau ski resort, one of the nine villages which make up the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental ski region. The 68 simply decorated guestrooms are wood furnished in traditional regional style, and come equipped with cable television and direct dial phones. Each room extends to a bathroom with hair dryer and shower or shower/tub.
After a day on the piste, guests have access to a range of relaxation including an indoor swimming pool, sauna, Roman bath, Turkish herbal bath, and two hot tubs. A solarium and massage treatments are also on hand (for a fee), or for the more energetic a table tennis is available to guests. The hotel provides storage for ski equipment, and guests arriving with their own vehicles have access to complimentary garage parking. Those interested in local culture can enjoy regular evenings of live traditional and dance music organised by the hotel. For families with kids, the hotel also organises supervised children's activities programs including torch lit treasure hunts, tobogganing, and snowman building. The closest nursery run is 150 metres away, while the piste for more experienced skiers starts 800 metres away. The nearest major airport is Munich Franz Josef Strauss, 165 kilometres away, while the nearest railway station is in St Johann in Tirol at a distance of 10 kilometres.

Driving directions: From Munich Airport take the A9 (E45) direction Salzburg then turn off for A99 direction Salzburg Innsbruck. Later turn off onto A8 for next 44 kilometres. Turn off for A93 Innsbruck, Kufstein exit. Stay on this motorway into Austria, then after approximately 16 kilometres, turn off at junction 17, Wörgl Ost. Follow B178, Loferer Bundestrasse for 16 kilometres, following the signs to St Johann in Tirol. After passing the village of Söll, drive another 10 kilometres to Ellmau. Drive through Ellmau village, turn left at the church and the Hotel Hochfilzer is on the left.
