This was an amazing hotel to stay in for my first night with my husband. There were rose petals on the bed, and petals around the tub and then candles. As well I asked for champagne to be waiting and there was wine as well as champagne and chocolate. The room was huge, the bed was huge and there was a nice note from the staff. The room was also extremely romantic and vintage, and the grounds were so pretty. I loved my experience and would gladly stay here anytime. The staff was extremely helpful, there were no hidden costs of any kind. Stay here you won't regret it. It was a clean room and again can't say enough about the beauty of this room and the dining room where we enjoyed lunch. « less

Elegant and quaint This place is great! The bed was incredibly comfortable with high quality pillows and linens. The bathrooms are very spacious with a big shower and a nice bath tub with a Jacuzzi. A nice touch was that there were speakers in the bathroom, so it was very easy to enjoy relaxing music while in the Jacuzzi. There was turn down service. The location of the Inn is wonderful. The continental breakfast was quite excellent. It overlooks the Humber River and there's nice walking through the parkland along the river or through the quiet neighbourhood that the Old Mill is a part of. The spa was quite relaxing and the staff professional. I enjoyed our massage together. The service provided by the wait staff at the restaurant was wonderful.Staff friendly and warm. We stayed in a King Suite with a balcony. Would definitely stay here again. « less

We chose this Inn to celebrate our anniversary after receiving a notice from Travel Zoo. We had not heard of it prior to this. What got my attention first was the beautiful gardens and park surrounding the Inn. Although the weather was cold and windy the gardens were still pretty but I imagine they must be gorgeous later in the season. We were given Room 303 and were surprised how quiet it was upon waking the next morning..we would never think we were in the city!! The customer service was friendly and excellent. We arrived early but our room was ready and the parking and breakfast were complimentary. The staff had prepared our room with a bottle of Chardonnay, chocolate, fire place, candles and jazz on the two stereo systems! We felt spoiled!! We stayed on a Monday so the main restaurant and Spa were not open. We arrived after the lunch hour was finished but the hostess accommodated us as we only wanted soup. We had our supper in the bar and it was great! The atmosphere was cozy and the food was delicious. I had the chicken with red pepper gnocchi and garlic infused kale and my husband had the Arctic char. We don't usually indulge in dessert but we couldn't resist the cheesecake with black berry/cinnamon sauce, mmm,mm,mm! The kingsize bed was very comfortable and there was a Kurick? Coffee maker in the room so we had a really good cup of coffee before breakfast. The breakfast room is attached to the main restaurant with lots of windows overlooking the patio and garden. Breakfast was complimentary and included fresh fruit, bagels, pastries, cereals, yogurt, granola, cheeses, smoked salmon and rolled lunch meats. There was also the option of ordering from a menu which offered eggs, French toast etc and the prices were about $14-$19 for those. Checkout was fast and we were thinking that one night was not enough! Next time we think we will hop on the Bloor Street subway and take in some of the downtown activities! « less

Two night stay for business trip. Room was tired and old looking. Carpet had large black stain beside bed. Large greasy footprint stain on bathroom floor just in front of jacuzzi tub. White tile floor so tough to miss it. Housekeeping didn't clean the bathroom floor when I was there but most disgustingly didn't clean it from the previous guest before I checked in. Went to restaurant for a meal on Monday night to find it closed so sat in lobby bar with limited menu. Ordered ribs and fries which were both served lukewarm. Only saving grace were the staff I interacted with who were all very personable. In particular, the young lady at the restaurant who went out of her way to make me coffee at 6.15 a.m.an hour or so before they opened when I was leaving for the airport did much to temper my disappointment. In short, the hotel was worth nowhere close to the $300 per night I paid and I would be hard pressed to return. « less
