This small hotel, is suitably placed for the Forum metro station, it is very basic. There isn't anywhere to lock up valuables, this meant I had to carry everything with me i.e. passport, credit cards, spare cash etc. The tiny room complete with bunk bed, was reasonably comfortable, unfortunately the wet room/shower room never seemed to dry out, there was always water on the floor. Nevertheless there was free WiFi, tea and coffee making facility also digital TV. Breakfast was very limited, not even a boiled egg. Four nights here was long enough, I would not want to stay any longer « less

This hotel is quite basic, but was clean and reasonably comfortable. The food was good, if you like a simple continental breakfast. No hot breakfast here for a hungry Englishman!! Rooms are quite basic, and the shower curtain provides the smallest area I have ever showered in! The curtain didn't quite come round the full 360 degrees, so there was a good deal of splashing on to the wash basin and nearby mirrors. No rubber scraper either to remove excess water from the floor. If you are not fussed about luxury, you will find the Cabinn Scandinavia quite acceptable. But I'm glad I didn't have to shower more often than once! « less

i stayed there for 2 nights and yes the rooms are small. But you get everything you need for a really good value. The rooms are designed like a cabin on a cruiseship (therefore the name), there is a shower, toilette in the room. In my room were 3 bunkbeds (i travelled alone) and of course the free wifi with good connection. The hotel is close to a subwaystation, so the transfer to the airport was no problem. « less

We stayed at the Hotel Cabinn Scandinavia for four nights, as part of a group of around 20 people attending a meeting in Copenhagen. On our first evening, we were relaxing on the beds (there wasn't room to relax anywhere else), and shortly after my husband went into the bathroom I noticed a smell of burning. Fortunately I quickly tracked this down to my husband's pillow, which - propped up - had come into contact with the reading light over the bed and caught fire! I managed to put out the smouldering patch before it burst into flames. The next morning we took the pillow to the reception desk... where the member of staff on duty commented that we weren't the first guests this had happened to, and "at least this time we hadn't set the whole room on fire"!! We can't help thinking that there's a major design fault there, together with a rather cavalier attitude to health and safety.
Apart from that incident, the plus points: the hotel was very reasonably priced by Copenhagen standards; the WiFi was free, fast and reliable; it was nice to have a kettle in the room; there was a good choice of TV channels; and the breakfast buffet was adequate. Some of our colleagues commented on the unpleasant smell in rooms that previous reviewers have noted, but we didn't experience that.
The downsides: the rooms and bathrooms are indeed very cramped. Our "Commodore" room had a bunk bed above the two single beds, positioned in such a way that it was almost impossible not to hit your head from time to time; I still have some nasty scalp bruises. The (non-adjustable) shower head produced plenty of water, but at odd angles that made it quite hard to shower properly. Even in a basic hotel like this, I'd normally expect a room safe and a hairdryer. The light switch system in the room was very complicated, with one master switch which, if turned off by accident, left one unable to turn any light on. The location is good for the Forum metro station and therefore for the airport, but not quite so convenient for the train station (around 25 minutes' walk) or town centre. Overall, if planning a future stay in Copenhagen we'd choose to pay a little more to get better facilities. And fire-resistant pillows. « less

"Kudos to Jackie, and many thanks to your service. I never would have known about that particular hotel, and even if I eventually did find it, it would have taken me days to accomplish what I did in 15 minutes with you.
