I travel for business to Denver and every once in a while have to stop by for visits at Evergreen. I typically stay in the Golden area and then drive up for meetings to Evergreen but I decided to stay at Highland Haven because of a snowstorm.....and what a find! This place is beautiful, very close by (walking distance) to restaurants, bars, the lake, hiking trails, etc... The hotel staff is very friendly, great breakfast, and they even cleaned the snow off my car in the morning. Looking forward to coming back with my wife on a personal visit and spend a weekend at Highalnd Haven. « less

Thank you for spending the time to share your experience with us, we are so happy to hear you came here on business and had a little pleasure. We would love to have you and your wife back here and if you come for business by yourself we have a business rate, we can always apply. Hopefully next time we see you it will be sunny and warm and you can sit by the creek. Thank you for your time and kind review. Roxy

Sure, the price is higher than the average B&B, but you certainly get your money's worth. We booked a deluxe room for our 9-yr. anniversary and were upgraded to a hillside suite prior to arrival (possibly due to it being in the off-season and that we stayed for 9 days!). Great location next to a creek and roads that lead to more towns as well as great get-out-there hiking and scenic drives. So much to do right there in Evergreen alone. (oh, and letterboxers, you've got some great finds in the area!).
The suite had two bedrooms, one queen, one king; both wonderfully comfortable. The main room had a gas fireplace, nice furnishings, a kitchenette, and a small desk area. There was also a flat screen tv, but we only used that to check the weather for our daily hiking outings (oh, and the danged blizzard that forced us to leave a day early). Completely cozy, it felt as if the rooms wrapped around us. Even though the suite was next to a small road going up to the residences on the mountain, it was still quiet and peaceful. The suite is one of two in the same building, but in the 9 days we were there, we never heard the guests in the next suite, and that included two children the last two days we were there.
Breakfast was buffet style and didn't lack for options. Every morning was something hot (egg strata's & casseroles, potatoes, sausages) and something cold (yogurt, cereals, fresh & sweet fruit) as well as 'dessert' (omg, the chocolate croissants!). The waffles on the weekend... yay! As we stayed for nine days, the staff was very conscious and asked if we would like something different or special. How many places can you think of that would take your stay in to consideration like that?
Now, to the staff... FABULOUS! We've stayed in many a b&b as well as inns and hotels across the country and overseas. This is simply the BEST staff you could ever ask for. The owners are very involved in the day-to-day running of the inn, the staff they've hired are welcoming, friendly, out-going, sweet, kind, and ready to assist you in any way and provided great suggestions for our days out. Heck, the entire town seems that way! Of course, how can you not be friendly and happy in a place like Evergreen and the Front Range? I cannot begin to stress how much we enjoyed the folks at this Inn. There is one other staff member, a lovable dog named 'Rowley' that greeted us daily at breakfast; the big, sweet, mooch :)
We hope to one day move to the area (not only an anniversary trip, but a move/scouting trip) and will certainly stay there again whether we live in the region or not. This place is special. Whether a romantic getaway, long weekend, or full vacation, you won't be disappointed. « less

We printed this out and shared it with all of the staff, Gail the owner was just beside herself with the kindness of your letter. Trip Advisor is very influential for small business as it really gives people an inside to what can be expected if they choose to stay with us. It also keeps us on our feet we want all our guests to get the feelings you guys did!
To take the time and say such sincere comments is the nicest, biggest thing you can do for us. Gail and Tom the owners work everyday and have for 33 years to try and get across everything you mentioned in your review. They have trained all of us to pass on their kindness and love for this business. We want to make sure people who stay here for a long time and feel comfortable in their room and enjoy every breakfast, so we always try to put ourselves in your shoes. We so love our Rowley girl and spoil her in her old age, thank you for giving her love. We hope to see you both again. We remember you girls, it was so nice to get to know you. Roxy

The Highland Haven Creekside Inn is a true haven for travelers to the Denver/Evergreen area of CO. It is tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil setting with huge pines and a clear creek in front. The rooms are beautiful, and we were even given a complimentary upgrade because there were extra rooms the nights we stayed. The location is amazing; it's a quick walk to the creek, downtown evergreen (restaurants and shopping), and the lake. The breakfasts were AMAZING!! I have never had such an amazing breakfast at a B & B. I highly recommend this Inn to anyone looking for a romantic getaway or just a beautiful place to stay and rejuvenate. I didn't want to leave and can't wait to get back at another time. « less

This is my second visit to the Highland Haven Inn. Upon arriving I had noticed the "tree house" which is a new addition since my last visit. It is an upscale spa-like accomodation with views for miles and ambiance to spare. I didn't stay in that room but, now know it is imperative to book it for next time. It seems the Highland Haven has become even more beautiful since my last visit. There are newly renovated rooms that look like a Ralph Lauren catalog. I didn't want to leave the cozy room my friend and I were sharing. If it hadn't been for the delectable brunch awaiting us the next morning I don't think we would have ventured away from the fireplace iin the room. The Highland Haven Creekside Inn is a family-owned business so, it is not unusual to run into the owners during your stay. I especially want to comment on how wonderfully helpul Roxy ( the manager) was. « less

My boyfriend whisked me away to this mountain oasis for a Friday night getaway following a stressful week. It was amazing. There is so much attention to detail, and we truly felt like welcome guests. There was chilled champagne upon arriving, and a delicious homemade breakfast in the morning. Our room was immaculate, and the beds were extremely comfy. I haven't stopped raving about this place to everyone that I know, because it was such a wonderful experience. We also peeked at the Treehouse suite before we left, and made a mental note to stay there for our next special occasion. The staff was sweet, the amenities were awesome, and the property is breathtaking. Do yourself a favor and plan a getaway to this Evergreen retreat! A true gem. « less

Thank you for noticing our details and I will plan on doing our champagne check in more often, starts a trip off the right way and helps you unwind from the stress.
