I stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Southaven, MS on Saturday, March 30, 2013. My stay was quiet and relaxing. The room had recently been upgraded and refurbished. The room seemed quite large and spacious. I had a refrigerator but did not use it. The Television was new and on a swivel, so I could direct it towards the desk, the bed or the couch.
Breakfast was great on Easter morning. The posted time was 7 AM, but I ate at 6:20 AM after I had gone out to check on my cat & bulldog in the car. All the food was ready and the server was very helpful. I had a couple of Jimmy Dean sausage & egg breakfast sandwiches and I recommended that the hotel order the JD ham & egg sandwiches, too, to have a greater variety. The Albuquerque and Wichita Fairfields have a choice of sandwiches and I do prefer the ham.
The Inn is close to about 40 restaurants. Saturday evening was just a big glow of neon. I wanted something quick so i walked across the street to Chick-Fil-A.
My only regret was it was a one night stay due to my travel plans (1400 mile drive from Pensacola to MMinneapolis). « less

The hotel is being refurbished and the top floor where I stayed is pretty nice. Breakfast was pretty standard. Front desk staff was super friendly. Kitchen staff was very helpful and sincere. Internet is very, very slow at all times of the day or evening. I will not stay here again for that reason alone. Housekeeping staff was friendly but way too loud as they cleaned. There was constant loud chatter in the halls and they let the room doors slam against the security latches in each room as they cleaned. Be aware this is an airport property and Fed Ex hub so it can be very loud in the middle of the night. I had to wear ear plugs.... « less

Strange to get to. You, quite literally, need to go through a Best Buy parking lot to get to the access road.
They're remodeling right now. Service at check in was poor. I could have eaten all the cookies (I didn't) before the staff would have noticed. I still had to call back "hello!) a few times before they came forward.
Room 328 was reasonably quiet for an airport hotel. Bed was comfortable. Good pillow selection. TV selection was okay.
Water was hot in the shower, pressure was not so good.
Room is laid out poorly. You can't use the desk and watch TV at the same time, the microwave/fridge stand is in the way. Wifi speed was fair. Room light is *meh*. Furnishings in good repair though they've been in service quite some time.
Pantene shampoo/conditioner. No lotion, random soap. Linens were clean and the standard white, unfluffy type. Hair dryer present. Worked okay.
Pool and hot tub are outside and were covered for the winter.
Breakfast is free, I didn't do more than OJ, and that was good.
They have an airport shuttle and were less than 15 minutes from the airport. « less

Ok...My family & I were taking a day trip to Memphis, decided to drive up & get a hotel the night before so we could have more time to enjoy our trip (instead of driving all day...4hrs there & back). We picked up a "Traveler's Coupons" book to find a hotel since we weren't familiar with the area. Found this hotel in the book, but when we got to the hotel were told they DO NOT honor the coupon which has the phone # & address of THIS hotel!!!! The desk clerk, who was very unfriendly, said he could give us a discounted room & since we were tired from working all day then traveling 4 hrs. we agreed & it was obvious he was more interested in watching T.V. then in any way helping us (which should have had us running far away from this place but as I said we were tired & wanted to get some rest). The morning clerk seemed nicer. But we were checking out so couldn't say if she was really any better. The room was ok, I will say it was clean & smelled ok, the king size bed was very uncomfortable to me & the pillows were "fluffy" its just too bad the "fluff" left as soon as you put your head on it. The shower did not have enough water pressure for me & the vanity was so small I couldn't set my products out to get ready (maybe 4 inches on either side of the sink). Breakfast was not appealing at all....the bagels tasted "day old" and the OJ tasted like it had some kind of chemical in it...my husband got coffee & he said it was good. We only stayed one night but, when we viewed our bank account, found we were over charged; our daughter was overcharged by $23 & my husband & I had 3 SEPERATE charges on our account!!! When we called about the overcharges we were told "when you pay with a debit/bankcard we charge 15% more...That's how we make our money" REALLY?!?!?!? As for my account I was being overcharged by more than $200!!!! At these prices we could have stayed at a MUCH nicer hotel...I called my bank first thing Monday a.m. to dipute the charges then called the hotel manager who blamed the "mishap" on our bank!!! I gave a rating of 2 because it is located close to the interstate & near restaurants (which we ended up needing since the "free breakfast" was so undesirable). Avoid their "hidden charges" !!! And by the way, my daughter had tried to pay cash & was told it would be an additional $100 for paying with cash for "security"!!!! « less

We stayed one night on the way to NOLA for a cruise. The hotel was filled with young boys for baseball world tourney. This made things a bit crazy throughout the hotel, but the hotel staff still did a decent job. The vanity area was smaller than I expected in our king room. We did not swim as we were tired and needed to be up early. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Considering all the children, it was fairly quiet and there was plenty of breakfast. We got a kick out of some of the signs on the room doors for those involved in the tourney. Pillows do need to be updated, not too comfy there. « less
