We stayed here April 26-28/13 and had a wonderful time. The room was soooo spacious. I love the lounger in front of the bed. The staff was so helpful. My husband was there for business, so the first day we arrived I was on my own. I asked the concierge to advise me on a couple places I wanted to go and he happily gave me a map and showed me how to get where I wanted to go by foot. And again, the following day when my husband and I went and explored Old Montreal the concierge was there for us, even making dinner reservations for us. It was nice that there was always a taxi available for anyone needing one. I hope we do return to Montreal and when we do we will definitely stay here again. « less

We arrived around 9pm and were treated as though we were the first and most important guests of the day by the Doorman. We were also greeted well by the Front Desk.
The room exceeded all of our expectations. I had read on these pages that the hotel had undergone renovations recently, and it showed. Furniture, carpeting, bed and bedding all looked brand new.
After weighing our late night dinner/snack options, we rolled the dice and ordered room service. I typically have very low expectations because of past experiences elsewhere, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, and the attention given to us by our waiter.
We would stay here again without hesitation. « less

It's clear that this hotel has undergone a major refurbishment. The room is nicely appointed, but below the surface you can see the old bones. My major complaint is that the water pressure is almost violently too high. Taking a shower left me standing in a foot of water as the drainage couldn't cope. It would be ideal if they offered a shower head that could moderate the flow so that those who don't want a firehose shower could opt-out.
There is also no controllable fan for the bathroom, which can get quite humid after the thunderstorm-esque shower.
Secondly, the wifi is absolutely useless. You can bypass the daily charge by signing up for their loyalty program, but honestly, the wifi never worked. It would take up to 10 mins to get a connection, and then once connected, it was brutally slow. Really, no point, and I would have raised hell if I'd ended up paying $10/day for it. I tried it on 2 different smartphones and a laptop - all the same experience.
Didn't use the breakfast facilities - daily charge was too high.
On the plus side, the bed was good, and I slept well. The staff were also very friendly, but I didn't interact with them much beyond the check in/out process. « less
