The Sheraton Burlington is generally where VIPs, dignitaries, and celebrities tend to stay when they visit or have business in the Burlington area. Hotel is located right off highway 89 at exit 14W, and is close to many area facilities including the University of Vermont, Champlain College, Fletcher Allen Hospital, The University Mall, downtown, restaurants, shops, and the Burlington International Airport to name a few. Hotel is fairly large and is often hosting events, shows, seminars, and expos, and therefore it can get somewhat busy with traffic and people. The inside of the hotel is fairly nice with fireplace, indoor swimming pool, an indoor garden, and a bar. Rooms are average and service is alright. This used to be "the" hotel in the area at one time but it has run old and needs some good improvements.
FYI - President Barack Obama had lunch here during his recent campaign visit to Vermont. « less

Stayed here for a weekend during a school basketball tournament. Very convenient to UVM where the games were played. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately the air conditioning didn't work. Opened the window but right outside was the smoking area for the courtyard so the smell was coming into our room. We shut the window and spent the night in a hot room. Watch out for the undisclosed Wi-Fi access fees. We were charged $9.95 for three times my daughter used the internet. Signs in lobby say Wi-Fi is available but they don't state it's going to cost you. Restaurant food was average. If you're staying here better to go out and find a local restaurant. All and all its an okay hotel. « less

My wife and I have stayed at this Sheraton about 4-5 times now, we keep going back cause we enjoy its charm, and country feel. Rooms are clean, however starting to show some age. Check in was quick and easy, we had a minor issue we had reserved a room with a king bed and got a queen. We didn't even notice till the next morning. We told the front desk and they gave us a new room with a King, luckily for us because they were almost at full capacity. « less

We visited Burlington the first weekend in May for a getaway weekend, and booked the Sheraton as a Hotwire prepaid deal. We got a king room for around $90 a night, which I think was pretty good compared to their advertised rates but still probably a bit high for what we got.
The room itself was fine; clean, spacious, and a king bed, and a coffee maker with Starbucks singles. Nothing fancy. We didn't eat in any of the hotel restaurants so can't comment on them. Unfortunately the hotel was noisy and full of teenagers (this was graduation weekend for one of the local universities and I think a lot of families were at the hotel for their kids' graduation). We requested a quiet room but were given a room overlooking the inner atrium and breakfast area, where unfortunately kids decided to set up makeshift goals and have a field hockey match well into the evening. There were also empty beer bottles and dirty glasses sitting around on Sunday morning, after Saturday night partying. Not cool for what bills itself as an upscale conference property. (At least the hotel staff quieted the kids down after we called the front desk.)
I think if we go back to Burlingon, we'd probably try something else in the vicinity (there's a La Quinta Suites just down the road that's probably just as good for less money), unless we got a really good rate at the Sheraton. « less
