We arrived by train the hotel was a short walk from the station,the reception staff were very efficient and friendly, our room was out of this world,balcony and great views,free tea and cakes between 4pm & 5pm the breakfast was excellent we also had an evening meal this was also very good,for us this was a very cozy and warm hotel will certainly recommend to friends,thanks too all for a great stay we will be back. « less

Stayed here with 4 friends in March 2013. Excellent value package with skis/boots/lift pass and dine around package. Staff were all charming, polite and helpful without exception. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I note other comments about the state of decoration but our rooms were perfect. Balcony views with the Matterhorn and the golden arches! No cooking pongs or noise though. Friends tried the pool and reported that it was excellent. Superb breakfasts and dinner in the hotel and round and about. Didn't really need lunch out on the mountain.
Ideally placed for station and Gornergrat railway with Sunnegga lift not too far. I would definitely stay here again. « less

I loved this hotel. Its central location (walkable from the train station) is a delight, as the last thing you want to do upon arrival is walk a marathon to your hotel, even if it also has a luggage service. Very quaint decor and warm, cozy rooms. Excellent breakfast sure to fill up the most ravenous skier. Ski rental on site (good quality, too), and again, walkable to the lifts. I also used the childcare service, and found it top-rate. Clean facility and lovely, multilingual staff. I hope to go back to Zermatt one day, and if I do, this is where I plan to stay. « less

Stayed here for a week's skiing as a party of 6 (4 kids) - 3 rooms, all with balconies - 2 interconnecting and one with Matterhorn view. Convenient to the station for arrival/ departure. Rooms good sized, in traditional Swiss Alpine style making for comfortable accommodation yet not too 'precious' for those with kids in tow.
For skiers, the ski room was well equipped, (with on site ski hire/ technician which could be really useful for shorter trips). Swimming pool was good sized and recently modernised spa made for welcome relief after the rigours of the slopes.
Restaurant food was very good, breakfast spread excellent and 'dine around' options for half board residents to other associated restaurants a useful feature.
Beyond all this, the highlight was the friendly staff, especially with respect to the kids and the personal service in the restaurant which was always attentive and 'human'.
Net would certainly recommend for travelers looking for an excellent base to explore all that Zermatt has to offer « less
