Stayed for three nights in kingston in a newly refurbished room with a cracking view overlooking the sea.
Room was a bit small with double and single bed in it but did the trick...bathroom was lovely with a great shower.
Bit of a transition happening with old parts of the hotel getting refurbished but for the price it's perfectly acceptable.
Breakfast was tasty with a buffer served at the weekend and bar staff are friendly.
The only negative points were the lack of parking (we arrived early so was able to avail of the free parking spaces, there isn't many as hotel mainly has on street pay parking) and also the lift wasn't working for all of our stay (we were on third floor which was grand walking up and down but awkward when we were leaving with our luggage).
We would stay again -accommodation with great views and half the price of the royal marine hotel up the road!

Stayed here recently for a 2 night stay. Hotel was lovely - the downstairs was furnished nice and modern then the rooms were very old school. Beds very comfortable and we had a lovely family room overlooking dun laoghaire harbour which was delightful. Only downside at night we could here the dart (train) passing through every 15 minutes but as soon as we fell asleep it was ok. Bathroom was nice and clean nice powerful shower.
Breakfast was nice - cooked breakfast to order which my partner had both mornings saying it was lovely and nice selection of continental food cereals toast and meats - only downside was tea and coffee were pre brewed in an earn - so the tea was not fresh - would take two seconds to provide some fresh tea bags.
Staff really let the hotel down - on arrival a lady called Sinead at reception - not really a warm welcome no interaction or simple how are you today hardly spoke. I dont think a smile ever passed her lips - just simply got me to sign for my key and told me told me where my room was. Then as we had our small son with us - I later asked for a cot to me made up which she replied "i can do" which came across as if i must.
On the second night we arrived late back from a wedding we had attended we went into the bar which we knew was closed only to look for a glass of tap water to take to the room - when we were shouted and ushered out by an asian member of staff - saying no you have to sit in the lobby. I tried to explain we were only after some water to take to the room - he kept saying go out were closed. I then said this is not good enough were just after water - which he then soon went behind the bar and gave us a pint of tap water.
For 95 euro a night I would expected better service - there was a different lady on check out which again lacked any interaction - it seems as if the hotel is very focused on presenting a nice hotel - room and breakfast but the customers are an inconvenience if that makes sense.
I would recommend people paying a bit more and staying at the Fitzpatrick Castle hotel nearby in Killiney - it has super service levels compared to this hotel - we only stayed here as the castle was full.
All in all nice hotel which good facilities - but the staff let it down. « less

Until recently I used to try and do business at this venue.
At first things were fine but when you were at other hotels you realised that this hotel wasn't as good as it should be.
One of the drawbacks is the lack of car parking. There is only 4 or 5 spaces available in a separate car park, i was only ever to park there once or twice. The only option is street parking which has no discount for users off the hotel. (There is another hotel located within walking distance that has an underground car park which is free if your doing business).
The breakfast that is available when I was there was just awful. There was very limited choice.
Some members of staff were quite rude to talk to and you didn't feel that welcome.
The only saving grace for the hotel is the view. You have some great views across the bay but with so many problems its hard to enjoy it.
In the end with so many problems with this hotel i have found plenty of other venues in the area which are much better for business meetings. « less

Dear Sir
Thank you for your recent review. As your main issue seems to be parking let me address that. At the Kingston we have the same problem facing many hotels in an urban setting and that is limited parking. This is compounded by the fact that we are located in a metre zone. We do however have a private parking area which is limited but does offer more than 5 spaces. Residents of the hotel are given priority with regard to parking. From the details mentioned by you I am surmising that you frequented the hotel early morning therefore if the hotel is busy the night before there may not be any parking available at that time. This situation usually rectifies itself as guests start to check out and therefore the majority of spaces would be free during the day until they are required by guests again late afternoon/early evening. As we are a small hotel our conference facilities are limited to small groups. We are generally able to cope with the requirements associated with the same.
It is unfortunate and disappointing hat you did not find your experience satisfactory but your comments have been taken on board and we continue to strive to improve our facilities and service as very business should.
Yours sincerely
Sinéad Boyle
