We have stayed many times in a HIE and have always had a good experience. We were in Hudson NY for Mother's Dy weekend and did not want to do the "in town" B&B scene plus Hudson NY is VERY EXPENSIVE for everything! It caters to the upper east side Manhattan week-end exodus. We were interested in visiting our son and the HIE is 20 minutes from the town on the west side of the Hudson River...very easy to get to and several incidental restaurants, fast food and diners in the area. Of course we spent our time and had a very nice dinner in Hudson, but staying here is very convenient, easy, pleasant and saves on the pocketbook. The hotel desk personal couldn;t be more helpful and friendly! They are always accomodating and have a supply of anything needed for personal hygiene that may have been forgotten in packing. Cookies are always on the desk and coffee and tea are always ready in the breakfast room. The rooms are clean, quiet, well maitained with great ventilation and cared for daily very quickly. Their beds and pillows are WONDERFUL!!! :) The ONLY suggestion I'd make to Holiday Inn Wesy Coxsackie to improve upon would be to create a small outside patio area. Unlike the HIE in Great Barrington Mass, which had a lovely adjoining patio to the breakfast room, there is nothing bit a bench out front here in WC, to enjoy some fresh air. Other than that we will be going back there everytime we visit our son. AND, btw, the free breakfast, though not gourmet, is always good at the HIE!! « less

My husband and I stayed here on our way back home in northern NY from a long trip. We were exhausted and needed a place to sleep before completing our trip. We compared this and another nearby hotel and decided on this because it seemed newer and more updated, although a few dollars more. The lobby and common areas were very nice as is the breakfast room. The front desk staff was friendly and courteous. We were given a handicapped corner room (didn't need it, but it was large and OK). The room was clean and comfortable. But it was very odd that the mattress had some sort of plastic mattress cover that was kind of "crinkly" feeling. The bathroom door did not close properly and had a wooden wedge to keep it open. Although near the highway, we didn't find that too bothersome. But, we travel with earplugs anyway. Breakfast was very good and the morning attendant was very friendly and helpful. When we were there the pool and hottub were under repair, but it looked like a nice area. The fitness equipment looked in good condition. If we needed to be in the area again, we'd return. « less

Stayed for one night and can say the room was in excellent condition and spotless. Bathroom was clean and modern. Staff was fine and cordial. Felt it was better than what I expected from Holiday Inn. I usually stay at Hyatt but there were none in the area. This was a perfect substitute and one third the price. I did stay in a 1 bedroom suite so maybe that made the difference. Did not utilize pool or other facilities. « less
