The Marina del Rey hotel is a great location and easy to find off of Hwy 1. It is a wonderful location, right in the Marina! Pool area is beautiful, although we did not use it. Our room had a King bed with clean linens and a balcony, which was wonderful. The sad part was that the people next to us were smoking on theirs so we couldn't keep our sliding glass door open very much. The elevator is old and a little scary. We were on the 2nd floor, and the noise above and next to us was VERY loud, I'd recommend the 3rd floor. Overall, a great location, decent hotel, good rates. Just needs some renovation, sound proofing, and updating. « less

We have stayed here in the past, but did not this year. The Hotel is very tired and tatty and the much needed demolition and rebuild will be happening next year we were told. Stopped by for drinks a few times and sat on the patio, so pleasant and lovely staff serving. When the rebuild is done we will be back as the location is wonderful, must be the best in the whole Marina . Was the first hotel built there so grabbed the prime spot. Will be a Hilton Garden when rebuilt and we look forward to returning.Hope it will be the same welcoming hotel as it is now but a lot more up to date. Enjoyed the display in the corridor by the Marina Del Rey Historical Society, showing the developement of the Marina from the Mud Lake, many years ago, so interesting, thank you. « less

2 nights here, it's in a great location but: - everything is old and a bit tatty - the rooms look tired - my room didnt smell too great - the a/c didnt work too well, and was very noisy (and was in a ground floor room so couldnt open the door during the night)
the service was just about OK, the breakfast was OK, the people were fairly friendly.
It will do well because of where it is. If it wasnt right on the marina then it would probably struggle. It needs renovating quite soon. « less

This hotel although is a little tired (renovations are going to happen soon) it is in a good position. Hotel reception staff were helpful. We did not use the pool but look good. Had a nice bar with a happy hour. Easy 3/4 hour walk to Venice beach. Lots of good restaurants around. « less
