The Morrison House is a great little hotel in Old Town, Alexandria. The staff really sets this property apart. Without exception they are kind, courteous, and always willing to do whatever you need done during your stay. The hotel is small, which can be a good thing if you're not intersted in being over run with big crowds of people. The restuarant food was good at breakfast and dinner. The rooms are small but nicely appointed and very clean. I will have no problem staying again. « less

Morrison House is a beautiful hotel located in the middle of old town Alexandria. The hotel has the charm and coziness of a delightful B&B but with the service and ammenities you would expect from a deluxe hotel. It is only a few minutes walk to the waterfront and historic Alexandria sites. Big hotels can make you feel like you are just a room number, at the Morrison house they make you feel like you are coming home. « less

WE stayed at the Morrison House in Late April. We had experience with the hotel prior to it becoming a Kimpton property. There was no question that the service has significantly improved. We did not have one contact with staff that was less than exceptional on their part. From being met by the valet, to the front dest to the house keeping staff they were great. Coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon were a nice bonus. We found the room comfortable and the online price we obtained was very competitive for the area. It is conveniently located for Old Town as well as the Metro into WDC. We will stay again and recommend to others. « less

Felt like I was staying with dear friends (who had a well-trained staff) at their gracious stately manor house in Old Town Alexandria. Didn't want to leave.
We were here two nights at the end of a week of traveling, which usually means I am longing for home. This Hotel welcomed me, made me feel as if I belonged there. Elegant building. Comfortable sitting room to read their daily newspaper selection and current magazines (or sip the complimentary wine in the afternoons.) Breakfast and dinner both delicious. No need to go out for better food or more relaxing yet energetic atmosphere. The room was immaculate, good bed, new and large bathroom.
Best thing, friendly yet out-of-the-way staff. We will return when anywhere near Washington DC. This was just a delight. « less

Morrison House is a very nice, upscale smallish hotel perfectly located to get around Alexandria by foot in good weather. Our room was on the 5th floor corner and was very comfortable. The service is impeccable. Very friendly staff. We found the restaurant to be too stuffy and expensive to be enjoyable. But the piano bar on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday is fantastic. The piano player worked at the White House for 30 years. Neighborhood folks come in on these days each week and sing. Everyone treated us like we were regulars too. Lots of fun. Go for the piano bar and quality service. Go elsewhere for good food at a reasonable price. « less
