This is not a 5 star hotel, but that said, it is really a great place to stay. The rooms are quiet, very clean, large with free internet connecction. Some rooms come with a fireplace, and the rooms on the first floor open up to a terasse and the lawn leading to the beach 20 meters away.
The location cannot be beat right on the water and next to two the biggest tourist attractions in Jutland, the old wooden warship Fregatten Jylland and the lovely Glas Museum.
The view across the bay to Molsbjerge (Mols Mountains) is lovely and every room has that view.
The restaurant was very good, and the service just excellent.
They welcome dogs and it worked perfectly with my big Broholmer. « less

Nice 70's Danish design furniture. Beautiful location and views from the room. Bathroom curtain not properly fixed, shower battery missed pieces so difficult to work. Bathroom towels of a very poor quality and not many. No bathroom mat. Bedlinen also of poor quality. Breakfast room ran out of orange juice and no one from the staff bothered to fill the jug.
I stayed in this hotel 2 years ago and was very satisfied. It is a pity it has gone so much down hill! « less

With the rain we had in Ebeltoft we were thankful to have a private, covered deck with a view of the ocean. We went across the street to the foto grocery store, bought some red wine, cheese, crackers, fresh strawberries and massive green peas that were fantastic. A nice, relaxing evening was exactly what we needed. The shower was the worst from my trip, the rooms were standard and maybe a bit of cleanliness was lacking but we still enjoyed our stay. « less

We did not use the sauna because we were repelled by the dirty changing rooms. The staff is arrogant, we even had to make our own beds. To be fair, breakfast buffet is ok, wlan works and the location is good. « less

We arrived in beginning of July and stayed for 3 nights. We hadn't booked a room in advance but got a nice hotel-room on the 1st floor with a beautiful view of the sea. The receptionist was really helpful and service-minded. We needed an extra bed in the room for my 7 year old son which they provided us with. They placed it outside the room in the hallway. The downside was that we had to make the bed ourselves. The room itself was spacious and seemed clean.
The hotel is 4-star, but due to wear and tear I wouldn't rate it to more than a 3-star. 10 years ago it might have been a true 4-star hotel. The reception/lobby and restaurant area had been recently renovated, but the hotel-rooms needed an upgrade to deserve their 4 stars.
Originally we planned to stay only for one night, but ended up staying there for 3 so all in all we enjoyed our stay very much.
Positive: Excellent service, nice location ( close to the center of Ebeltoft and only a 30 minutes drive to the amusement park Djurs Sommerland), beautiful view, close to the beach,
Negative: Not especially child-friendly (not much activities for children at the hotel), my son didn't receive his own towels during our stay and had to use ours, breakfast buffet had a limited selection. Price was a bit high at approx 240 USD pr night including breakfast and extra-bed.
Recommendations: Upgrade of the hotel-rooms and get a outdoor swimming-pool. Ebeltoft is very nice place for a summer-vacation and lots of families with children passes the hotel every day in their cars. I'm sure that an outdoor swimming-pool visible from the road would get you many more visitors during the summer-months.I had the impression that the hotel was far from fully booked when we stayed there. « less
