Standard Marriott setup, which we stay at a lot. Our first room smelled very musty. They moved us to a second one and the smell was only slightly better. The staff offered us air freshener but we would have preferred a better room. 10 minutes later they called to offer us a third room but no promise it would smell better. I'm not sensitive to smells so we stuck with the one we had, but if you are you might go elsewhere. « less

Our Vizsla Club of America National Events was held at this hotel this year and it was above and beyond excellent. The accommodations were beautifully spacious as well as comfortable. The rooms were quiet as well as climate controlled for a restful stay. The hotel restaurants, in which we had all our meals from banquets to breakfast to lunches and several dinners, were fabulous. I had many of their menu choices and all were superb. All of the staff was friendly and accommodating. I only saw one waiter who was below par and thankfully he was not ours. I would certainly recommend this hotel for any business traveler. It was a bit out of the way, being located in an industrial area, for holiday travelers. « less

You know how you have high hopes and cross your fingers and do your homework and then. . .sigh. It's better than nothing, but not good OR great? Well, at this Marriott, It IS! Dear Sister was booked for 6 nights and she NEEDED a great stay. Drove the manager, Jasen (what a professional, caring and all-around great guy he is) and his lovely assistant, Liz, near to crazy with daily questions and requests. They were not only gracious but accommodating in every detail. Some of us have physical challenges (moved from floor 11 to 3, nearer elevator for less walking), upon request wonderful basket of fresh muffins and organic, herbal tea delivered by room service. Let me mention a request for a lunchbox for Sissy (long, long drive home and I KNOW her, she will not stop! Hey, I tried to raise her right, she is the Baby.) was met with a wonderfully tender roast beef sandwich, fresh chocolate chip cookies, etc. Enough for two meals, in point of fact. Mini-suite room was large, comfortable and very quiet. Yes, the Vizsla dog show was there but did not hear any barking. Breakfast at Staci's Grill ala carte was perfect Eggs Benedict. In decades of loving this dish, no better has been found. Confession: ordered 3 out of 4 mornings. Told You. Perfect. Breakfast buffet could use improvement as could food service at the Bar. What do you want? I want nice ammenities (no dogs on conceriege floor, take note, please), clean and comfy bed and room and management that cares. Mischief Managed. Sissy Happy, Happy, Happy. Me, too. Will be visiting within six weeks. My go to for MPLS. « less

Stayed here May 2-3 for a business trip. I learned from a colleague that this is also the week they play host to an annual dog show. Sure enough the Viszlu's were here :) If you like dogs, you will love seeing them in the lobby, elevator, etc. If you are allergic then best try another hotel.
Rooms were spacious but the coffeemaker was dated and looked like it was from a thrift shop and the sugar/creamers were lacking. There is a Starbucks near the lobby so that was my fix. The restaurant has a great breakfast buffet and they can make omelets or eggs to order. Very quick and tasty.
Bar was great and the drinks were well crafted and served promptly.
If you are business traveler, this is a great hotel with quick and efficient check-in, bar and restaurant.
If you venture out and are looking for a restaurant, try Jimmy's. Great seafood and steak joint. Known for their walleye and halibut. « less
