Just returned from a week stay at the Mabely Grand Hotel. It was perfect in every way. The location is amazing on top of a hill overlooking the sea and this is a true five star hotel. The room was great, spacious with a balcony. The food was delicious and the staff were the best and so friendly. We celebrated a birthday and we were treated to a special dinner with a birthday cake. We had car hire for a week which is good if you want to explore the island. I have stayed in five star hotels and this is the best. The hotel is very impressive and sumptuous. A place to dress up for dinner. I can not recommend this hotel enough. The hotel is near to some great places to visit including the Shipwreck, the blue caves and the carretta turtles. It is about 40 minutes from airport in Zachynthos. We decided to hire a car as it is about 90 euros return in a taxi and we put this towards car hire. We also were able to go across to the mainland to visit Olympia by ferry. We had a wonderful time. « less

Hi I feel I must respond to the last post ,titled,a great disappointment, I believe the people who wrote the review were at the hotel for a week of my ten day stay, throughout that time we were around the same top pool area as them on a number of occasions, and I would say they seemed to be enjoying there holiday particularly the little one who loved the pool, didn't see the playground at the hotel so can't comment, I agree it's not a hotel for children, but anybody who checks out a place before booking would realise that in the case of the mabeley. Regarding the food being Recycled I would strongly dispute that and also the fact it was always the same, totally untrue , and we found the food to be varied and of excellent quality, I noticed the younger members of the party enjoying the evenings at the mabeley cocktail bar,and it didn't seem to be spoiling there holiday to much having to move rooms, re booking rooms through agents, I believe they say they will try and comply your requests ie top floor ground floor etc but cannot guarantee this, I'm afraid this is the practice the world over unless you cough up the readys upon booking, and that way will prObably guarantee your request, research is very important, looking forward to revisiting the mabeley, cheers « less

We stayed in this hotel at the begining of October 2012, the place is stunning. Staff were attentive and helpful, the food was good too. The hotel is isolated but they offer a bus to take you to a couple of the tourist attractions and if it's not being used for anything else to the local taverna's for a change of scenery. If I had a complaint it would be that the tea and coffee was never hot, just warm as the water was held in flasks, minor irritation really. Don't be tempted to use the brown towels in your room if they are there on arrival, take them to reception and swap them for nice fresh ones. Overall the break was amazing, the rooms are stunning, we were all inclusive and the food and drink was great. We made our own entertainment in the evening the the lovely atrium at reception it encouraged us to talk and we met some really nice people. All in all well worth a visit, came back very relaxed. « less

stayed at the mabely grand late sept early october. the location of the hotel is fabulous, very remote and peaceful with fantastic views and sunsets. we had an upgrade on arrival to a junior suite[thank you very much!!] room 324, GORGEOUS!! 4 poster bed, seperate living room,jacuzzi bath, very nice indeed!!
The hotel itself in my opinion merits its high rating, the location, the service from all of the wonderful staff and the lovely food is definately 5 star.
if you think of this hotel as a retreat, you wont be disappointed. it is very secluded, there isnt any entertainment at night and the main sitting area is very subdued and relaxed, all of which we loved !!!
my advice - STAY A THIS HOTEL !!!!!!
