Chef covering the evening shift seemed to have an attitude with the guests arriving too early to the serving area and getting something to drink or snooping around. Some of my co-workers felt offended and unsatisfied with her negative comments. She needs to have a different approach and this may affect future guests not staying at this particular hotel property. « less

The address of this hotesl is on Hacks Cross Road. However there are no signs for it on Hacks Cross and it is hidden behind other hotels. You will not see it from Hacks Cross. We searched for some time before seeing it from Winchester Road. Turn in to the Hampton Inn on Hacks Cross and follow the road back a couple of hundred yards to find it. I mentioned this to the front desk attendent. He was well aware of the problem, and also aware that the management had no intention to fix it.
Breakfast was good, but the cook staff seemed a bit overwhelmed.
WiFi in reception in our room was poor. Photos on websites took for ever to come in, and streaming video (Netflix and Youtube) would not work at all. « less

My husband and I stayed one night at this Homewood on our way to Memphis. We are very familiar with Homewood Suites since it is usually our first choice to stay when we are travelling. This Homewood certainly does NOT live up to Homewood Suites Standards!! When checking in I casually asked the front desk why there was a 24 hour required cancellation? This is not the norm for Homewood Suites unless they are in a resort area or specialized event occurrence. The answer from the Front Desk was "because we do"...not exactly explanatory. Registration is in a separate building from the rooms. Once registered you must go outside to access your room in another building. May not appear to be a problem BUT once outside parking is not convenient to this separate room building and guess what.....the luggage carts are in the other lobby building!! Now back we go to get a cart.....but not a cart insight even though no one else in sight checking in. We waited and finally asked for a cart....someone had to go to the other building (where the rooms were) to find a cart!! My husband is disabled (limited mobility but manages) so it took us at least 30 minutes from check in to the room. Thank goodness it wasn't raining...no protection. Elevator reeked of smoke but didn't worry....we had a smoke free room. Open the room door and the room reeked of smoke even though it said "smoke free". This hotel reeked of smoke everywhere!! After many miles travelling, we were too tired to leave. Now you must leave the building and hike to the social hour. The evening social was an adventure...food was good, beer and wine was provided but you had to get a "liquor passport" for each beer or glass of wine....only 3 allowed. No we are not big time drinkers!! If you wanted a glass, you had to knock each time on the kitchen door and wait until someone answered, and marked off the card ...felt like I was in kindergarten. This Homewood basically says.."Take it or leave it" It is not a Hotel where the management or staff care about their guests or the upkeep of the Hotel...definitely not a priority. Maybe because FED EX corporate headquarters is across the Street and they can fill their rooms with business travellers. « less

This location does not clean their rooms properly, rooms are noisy, bad reception on TV. Beds linens are old a ripped, bathrooms are nasty. Only thing going for them is a great staff, but the staff cannot makeup for all the other problems. I do not think that they are keeping up with the facility and want to work hard to fix these problems. This use to be a great location but in last few months things have gone down and getting worse. « less
