If you stay in Hasselt you really must try this hotel. We first used it 3 years ago on a business trip, since then we have become regular visitors both on business and social trips. The staff are brilliant , they can't do enough for you , the hotel itself has many beautiful features , it's outside courtyard which is great for a drink in the summer , the food always great and best of all the individually styled boutique bedrooms. Parking is available 200 meter's away but it has to be booked. Turn to your left when you exit the hotel there are lots of traditional bars and some very good restaurants . Give it a try you won't be disappointed . « less

stayed one night at this beautiful hotel, beautiful modern design integrated in an old building. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Our very large room (number 36 if I remember correctly) was at the topfloor of the hotel. Very quiet as it was at the back of the hotel. At first we couldn't get the heating to work properly, but after a phonecall it was soon taken care of. Very nice bathroom en separate WC. We made a reservation for the private parking and this worked out very well (14 euro's). In the morning we had one of the best breakfasts ever! You could have your egg anyway you wanted it, boiled, fried, etc. salmon, different cheeses, fresh fruits, you name it, it was there! As the hotel is situated in the middle of the centrum there are lots of other restaurants to choose from. All in all we had a very nice stay in Hasselt. We liked the hotel very much, we liked the Christmasmarket (more like a chrismasfair, but very good fun) the shops, the whole atmosphere of the town in december. « less

De Groene Hendrickx is a mix of old and modern, very tastefully decorated throughout. My room, 32, in the new part of the hotel was small, but perfectly adequate for one or two people. The bathroom was an extension of the bedroom, with a separate WC. All the fittings were brand new and the overall feeling was modern, bright, clean and well designed. Could have done with tea/coffee making facilities if I have to be picky.
The TV was small but had plenty of international channels available. The bed was comfortable and the room immaculately clean. My room was also air conditioned.
The restaurant/bar (which doubles as the breakfast room) is very pleasant and large with the theme of modern meets old. The breakfast was good quality and plentiful with the option of eggs and bacon. The restaurant food was superb and reasonably priced and gets busy in the evenings.
De Groene Hendrickx is located right in the middle of the town with many great bars and restaurants on your doorstep. My room over-looked a side road so was pretty quiet. If arriving by car, you need to park about a 5 mins walk away in a large underground car park (under the market square at Kolonel Dusartplein). Easy to get to but quite pricey (14€ for 24hrs in 2011)
The staff we extremely helpful and pleasant. They attentive to all our needs and made us feel very welcome.
I would highly recommend this hotel for it's great central location, unique design, helpful staff and excellent food. There are plenty of steps to get around the hotel, so not sure if suitable for wheelchairs. « less
