The hotel is located close to the NWU campus and within close walking distance of several bars, restaurants, shops and other downtown Evanston establishments. The check-in was efficient and when I pointed out some functional deficiencies in the room, the maintanence engineer was in my room within minutes. They moved me to a new room and offered to help with the luggage but as I had not unpacked I was able to roll the luggage over to a room 4 doors down the corridor. The service was very efficient and courteous and everyone i met was helpful.
The room was of a good size but the furniture, fittings and linens looked little old and in need of refurbishment. The batroom was small and a handwash soap was the only toiletry offered. The heater/airconditioner did not seem to respond to changes in setting.
The breakfast was typical Best Western fare and adequate. I had bagels with cream cheese, yougurt, coffee and OJ. They had other breads, waffles, tea and some other breakfast fare as well.
I found the hotel to be overpriced at 180+ bucks a night for what it offered. « less

My experience was very good, the staff was very helpful. The lobby guy offered to carry my luggage. However it was already a little after check in time and the front desk person was struggling to get me a room. I waited about 30 minutes, she was very nice though. The room was VERY clean, a big requirement for me. Great job house keeping. « less

This is a good place to stay and be near the Northwestern campus and still have access to the "L" and Metra to downtown Chicago. It is within walking distance to downtown Evanston and near several fine places to eat, Parking is a bit much but very convenient. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean, and they serve a continental breakfast. All in all its a good place to stay. « less

This is a perfect place for a visit to Northwestern as I was making this college visit with my daughter. The linens were very high quality and I loved the pillows.Also the breakfast was good and plentiful. Also we were able to visit without renting a car as the train lets you off within 1 block of the hotel. The school is also about 4-5 blocks from the University. An easy walk. The one downside is the lobby ....quite dark, dreary and unwelcoming...a stark contrast to the room itself. Also there are restaurants right across the street.

I stayed here with a friend over spring break, and it was better than what we expected. We got a deal because of her dad's frequent traveling, which was very nice. We were freshman in college, and they still treated us like adults, which was refreshing. They were so helpful and understanding. The staff would ask us how the stay was going in passing, and the room was always clean. The beds were nice and fluffy and comfy. Really enjoyed it, and a great location. « less
