Travelling by car -Switzerland - Loire this hotel seemed to be just what we were looking for. having previously stayed in a Inter-Hotel in Carcassone and having a convenient booklet we rang ahead.
being reasonably late in the evening we asked whether the restaurant was open. The response was positive, however, on arrival (apparently with another member of staff) were informed that the restaurant was closed. There was a large group of bus-people in the restaurant. Fortunately we had sufficient supplies of food in the car.
Room was clean, warm and basic. We were informed that breakfast was at 8am. hotel brochure indicated 7-10am.
Looking for a reasonably early start we headed to the breakfast room just after 8 to find that the bus-people were departing having completely demolished any available breakfast food.
Couldn't find an interested staff member so we paid up and left.
In summary, a just satisfactory stopover. Ring ahead and confirm availability of amenities. « less

A married couple, we wanted somewhere for an overnight stay to break our journey by car from the UK to Switzerland. For a very reasonable price, the hotel met all our needs, including: - Easy accessibility from the autoroute (we were not intending to visit the town centre) - Double room with bathroom en suite (although not large, it was adequate and included TV) - Parking on site (our parking space was covered by a CCTV camera) - Breakfast (better-than-expected selection and reasonable value) Service was efficient and polite. While the hotel had 'seen better days', it seemed well-maintained. A large Carrefour is close by - handy for provisions and refuelling. The restaurant was closed on the evening we arrived, but in any case the menu looked limited - so we opted instead for delicious Carrefour-bought bread, cheese and wine in our room. « less

This is a hotel for a stopover as part of a journey, not a base for exploring the town. The Hotel L'Horloge is a good way out of town, near the motorway and business parks. It is clearly aimed at business travellers and therefore lowers prices at the weekend. The 49 euros we paid for a double room represents excellent value, given the high standard of the accommodation. There is a good big private carpark. The evening meal was fine, not outstanding., but we had a first class bottle of Sancerre. A French bus party descended, just as we were finishing dinner, and, as as the nice young waitress had warned us, the noise level did go up(!) ,so we took our Sancerre and sat in the comfortable lounge area. Breakfast was copious and varied. The brochure offers, among other things 'a carpark deprived at your disposal,' 'a formula to allure you,' 'a tasty breakfast been useful on the dresser' and recommends Besancon for 'shopping or simple dawdling.' Je n'ai pas testé le restaurant mais le petit déjeuner était très bien. Petit parking autour de l'hôtel mais possibilité de se garer sur une grande place derrière. Les Kyriad sont de plus en plus de qualité inégale, mais celui-ci est à conseiller « less

Hôtel correct juste pour passer un nuit. S'en sort parce que c'est un Kyriad ( plateau de courtoisie).

Hôtel correct juste pour passer un nuit. S'en sort parce que c'est un Kyriad ( plateau de courtoisie). Chambre propre, literie et oreiller corrects. Mais ce sont encore des draps avec couvertures, des couettes seraient plus agréables, comme dans d'autres Kyriad. Déjeuner très copieux, bon et frais.
C'est au niveau déco qu'il faut prévoir un rafraîchissement ! Les couvre-lits, le papier peint et la couleur saumon des portes sont vraiment très très démodés. C'est LE point à améliorer pour cet hôtel Kyriad (la chaîne propose décidément des hôtels vraiment différents d'un hôtel à l'autre...).
NB : La chambre 36 a gardé son clou et sa trace de cadre depuis le commentaire précédent!! « less
