stayed here while visiting the fortress, which is only 10 minute walk away. no issues with hotel, just average. rooms were clean. suwon station is a 5 minute taxi ride away. there is a street really close by, where the Hotel Central is, with shops and resturants. or you can have dinner at the main "party street" across from the train station. « less

Our plan was to do a circular tour of Korea, ending in Seoul. (It's my opinion that it's always better to end the trip in the city that you will fly out of in case that there are transportation problems.) Thus arriving at Incheon airport in the evening we took the bus to Suwon for a two night stay. Since the only sight to see is the fortress of Hwaseong, a better bet is to take the train from Seoul for a day trip.
Since the next stop after Suwon was Busan, I e-mailed every hotel that I could find in the city. Most all of then do not response to e-mails! The only choices were the Regency at 80,000 Won or the Hotel Castle at over 200,000 Won. We picked the Regency.
Although Lonely Planet calls it a "top-end" choice, it really is average, and for two nights acceptable. Our big problem--and common in other hotels in Asia--is that they turn off the air conditioning in the shoulder seasons. It saves them money but rooms can get hot regardless of the outside temperature. We had to flight to get it on--and stay on.
So, if you are making independent travel plans, take a day trip; otherwise for one or two nights the Regency works by default. « less

水原はソウルから日帰り観光の人が多いでしょうが、水原に宿泊してじっくり華城観光をするのであればこのホテルの立地は最高です。城壁の南端に位置する八達門（パルダルムン）まで徒歩10分以内、水原市場も徒歩5分程度で行けます。水原行宮前の広場も徒歩15分程度。部屋は若干古めですが風呂・冷蔵庫・テレビ等まったく問題ありません。テレビはケーブルテレビで数十チャネルが映ります。 « less

ソウル市内にホテルを取りたかったのですが、どこもいっぱいでこちらのホテルに泊まりました。受付はどの時間帯にも、日本語ができる方がおり、場所の案内などまったく不自由を感じませんでした。 部屋の設備は古いです。しかしNHKが映る、お湯が出るなど特にこまったことはありませんでした。 スウォン駅までは歩いて25分くらいかかります。どこに行くにもタクシーを使う必要があります。 ただ価格も安いですし、日本語対応が可能ですので、スウォンで安く過ごしたい人にお勧めです。 « less
