I am a big fan of Marriott hotels. This hotel was very clean the rooms were spacious. I love how the rooms are so big, it gives you room to spread out and entertain. I thought the breakfast was great despite what other people say. They had eggs, sausage, wafflles, yougurt, etc, very delicious. The service was great too, they were able to get me a room on the 3rd floor which was a nice touch. I would highly recommend this place. I also love how it is closer to Salisbury Univ, Salisbury Mall and downtown Salisbury then the courtyard Marriott « less

We stayed here for a week for the annual Poodle Club of America National Championship Show. During this week, poodles and their humans basically take over Salisbury. Last year we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott, which was also good, but I feel that the rooms and the service at Residence Inn were a bit better. The staff were always very friendly, and nothing ever seemed to be a problem, even with poodles everywhere. Our rooms were spacious, clean and well-appointed. There were five people in our party (with four poodles!), across three rooms. Two of the rooms were one-bedroom suites, and this worked well for us. One person would take the sofabed in the living area and one person the king size bed in the bedroom. The pull-out sofabed was comfortable and just fine for sleeping on all week. Having a kitchenette with full-sized refrigerator was also very useful, although we always ate breakfast at the hotel's complimentary buffet. The hotel's location was also very convenient: close to the dog show, as well as many different restaurants. I hope to come back next year. We will definitely book this hotel again. « less

Staff were very friendly, rooms were clean and very spacious (although didn't need to use the kitchen!) Breakfast was ok, not as much variety as I would have expected but the usuals were there (as long as you don't mind turkey bacon!) No in-hotel bar/restaurant which was a shame - the nearest bar (from what I could tell) is about 15 minutes walk away. « less

I stay at Marriott properties a lot. Though this property was good, it didn't "wow" me like other Residence Inns I've stayed at in the past. We had the fireplace suite -- the room was clean, though didn't seem as modern as other Residence Inn suites I've stayed at previously. It seemed to be lacking that luxury feeling for some reason.
Anyway, the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. However, the ice maker in the refrigerator took over 8 hours to actually work, which was annoying, as the hotel does not have a hallway ice machine.
I have to echo what another reviewer said about the breakfast. That waffle iron either needs a serious cleaning or needs to be replaced. I COATED that thing with the non-stick spray and still had major difficulties getting my waffle out of the iron. Someone is going to burn themselves on that thing if action isn't taken soon!
Other items didn't seem to be very appetizing -- the scrambled eggs were so yellow, I bet they glowed in the dark. The fruit didn't look fresh. Plus, several staff members kept hanging around in the breakfast buffet area gossiping about other coworkers. Sure, the breakfast area wasn't busy but I didn't think that was very professional. « less
