A friend who lives in Eugene made the reservation. The place is in dire need of a renovation. It is old and beat up. The room had a musty mildew odour and the a/c was so noisy I turned it off. I did not want to walk barefoot on the carpet. The one good thing was the shower head but the bath and tiles were discoloured. I paid $60/nite and felt that is what it was worth, maybe less. Not a place I would stay again. Did not use any other services and did not even attempt the breakfast if there was one. I just wanted to end the visit and leave. « less

We stay at the Red Lion as it is an excellent place to stay if you are going to University of Oregon events, a quick 20 minute walk to the stadium or campus. They are friendly, the rooms are spacious, clean and the beds are comfortable. Also through in a good breakfast with the room for a reasonable rate. Oregon State games? Only a 45 minute drive and a good price and breakfast is waiting for you. Quality - Price = great value « less

I was disappointed with the one LONG night I spent there. We arrived early and were told no rooms were ready. This was at 1:30 but they would call us as check in was not until 3:00. They did call at 3:30 to let us know our 3:00 o'clock room was ready. When we got to the room it had one bed, one desk, one desk chair. The tv was circa 2005, 27 inch old style with fuzzy picture. The A/C unit was mounted above the door and must have been made in the 1980's. I roared, was only capable of running at full speed, and when it came on every 5 minutes it sounded like a freight train. The coffee pot was located inside of a cabinet and on a shelf that wouldn't pertmit the lid to open (lid hit the roof of the shelf). I tried to pull the coffee make out of the shelf but the cord was too short. Had to hold maker with one hand, and pour the water with other. Not a big deal but in the morning after a loooonnng night it was very irratating. The room was very clean and did appear to have recently been renovated. Won't be back. « less

I can understand how frustrating it can be to arrive at the hotel after a long day of travel, only to find the room is not ready at the published check-in time, and then to find the furnishings are not as modern as you would expect.
