We used Okayama as a base for day trips (to Hiroshima and Himeji) and we struggled for places to stay. The Okayama View Hotel came up as the best option. It was short tram ride, and a short walk from the train station. The hotel staff were friendly, and swiftly checked us in. The room was about standard for Japanese rooms - a little smaller than we're used to in the UK. The bed was a semi-double, which is narrower than a standard UK double. One thing that was a really nice touch - two folded paper cranes left was us to keep. Okayama itself is really worth a vist - the castle and park area (which are only a 10 minute walk away from the hotel) are really pretty. It is also possible to walk from the station to the hotel in about 15 minutes. Numerous eateries are located around the hotel, and indeed on the way to the station. Despite it's price, it is a great place to stay, and convenient for all attractions. « less

ごく普通のホテルですね。広いか狭いかと言われたらやや狭い方でしょう。値段相応の設備だとは思いますが、「洗浄機付トイレ」がないというのがマイナス材料ですね。この点を気にされるのなら避けた方が無難でしょう。ロケーションは岡山駅から徒歩１５分。路面電車を使えばぐっと近くなりますが、最寄りの電停・中央郵便局前を通る清輝橋線は１０分ヘッドの運転なので、天気がよければ徒歩をお勧めします。市電は終電が２１時台なので遅い到着には注意が必要。バス停は天満屋バスステーションが至近（徒歩２分）。長距離バスはここを経由することが多いので便利です。 « less
