We visited this hotel in October 2012 and, although it was late in the season, the weather was great and the hotel full. I have stayed here before about 22 years ago and although it was quieter then I think it has improved. The room was fabulous with fantastic views from the balcony and the pool was large so you could have a real swim. There is a sports complex attached with tennis, bowling, petanque, putting and table tennis so we had a go at everything. There is a small sandwich type bar beside the sports complex but we never quite got there when it was open. The pasta/pizza bar adjacent to the pool was excellent and you didn't have to get dressed for this, just cover up. The restaurant was good but by the second week I was a bit fed up with the choices. There was a strong bias towards Saga guests and on occasions you were not allowed in certain areas for their "Grand" meal.I also suspect the high percentage of older guests was the reason the food lacked seasoning and I yearned for a "garlic Kick". However it is a great area for walking, and we did miles, so I managed to get that Kick by walking to the next town, Punta Prima, where I had Garlic Prawns for lunch!!!! Minorca is a beautiful island and very quiet. Walking is a joy and the bus service to and from Mahon from San Luis is excellent. The only thing is if you want to go anywhere else you still have to go into Mahon to go back out again so next time we will probably hire a car to go see some of the less accessible places. I would go back to Hotel San Luis but probably a week of Saga type food and entertainment is enough for me. « less

Just had a lovely weekend break in the San Luis hotel. We arrived Friday evening (it takes around 10 mins from airport and cost 20 euros) and was very surprised to be told that the restaurant was expecting us even though it was officially closed. We were greeted by lovely reception and restaurant staff. Food is a very good quality although a bit more choice would have been helpful in the evenings. Lunchtime you do have the choice to dine al fresco at La Pasta restaurant, which serves lovely salads, pastas and pizzas. Wine, beer and spirits flow and all served in glasses unless you are sitting round the pool loungers, when they serve you in plastic glasses. All inclusive starts at 11 am and finishes at 11 pm although the bar stays open until midnight if you wish to buy a drink. There was ample sunbeds and its very peaceful round the pool area. I am not sure if this would be the same in peak season. Rooms are very clean, tv with english channels, hairdryer and there is a supply of hair and body wash. We didn't take much notice of the evening entertainment so i cannot comment but there was live music advertised. So if you are looking for a lovely break near the airport (although you do not hear any aircraft noise) then this hotel is lovely. Any questions, do not hesitate to email. « less

Sorry i took so long to post this review but better late than never. We stayed in this hotel mid oct 2012, and can only find good things to comment on. Menorca is a very quiet place and this hotel is a little way out, but having said that the bus service was just down the road from the hotel or you could hire a car which we did at a very good price from the car hire service within the hotel. the AI starts at 11am and some people were moaning about this, all I can say is pack your travel kettle as I for one did not find it necessary at have a drink between breakfast and this time. The drinks in the hotel were some of the best we have had, cava with lunch was very nice. Fridge in room for hire would cost 25 EURO per week which I do think should be free in a saga hotel, maybe the hotel should add this to the holiday price in the first instance and that way its a win win for all. staff in this hotel were lovely and could not do enough for you, this was everyone from reception,dinning,cleaning and bar services. we had a fantastic stay and will be back! « less
