We picked this hotel because of its location to family we were visiting. It has served it's purpose. It is clean, quiet and convenient. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I found the choice of TV channels limited. The bed is softer than I prefer and the pillows are on the small side. I do appreciate the small refrigerator in the room. Renovations to the hotel lobby begin May 12, 2013. I would stay here on a return trip. « less

I have no idea how this hotel has so many four star reviews. The place is a dump.
First off, I'm a gold member. Not to be snotty but almost every time I check in (and at the subsequent hotel I stayed at) they greet me and usually upgrade our room or ask if we need anything. There was no recognition of even being a marriott rewards member except for the three parking spaces out front reserved for elites.
The rooms were dirty. We rejected our first room due to leftover food/bugs. The second room was cleaner than the first but still hair in the shower and other little things like that. We lived with it as it was only two nights. We should have checked out the first night, our AC started making some funky noises but it was intermittent so didn't think anything of it. The second night it wouldn't stop all night and there was a huge puddle underneath it. We were going to call but our 5 year old actually slept through it (had a pillow over his head). Find out in morning that it wouldn't have mattered as they had no one there to fix it anyway. Definitely wasn't changing rooms at 2am.
We tried the breakfast the second day (they gave it to us for the awful lack of sleep experience due to their broken AC) and it wasn't very good. It was much worse than the usual Marriott buffets. I don't typically stay at courtyards but was surprised by how less than mediocre this location was.
Finally ( I could go on but won't), when my husband and son were swimming in the pool there was a floatie.
We have several trips to this area over the next year but we will not return to this hotel. The location was good for us but the value for the $ isn't there and I refuse to stay in a place that's not clean. we stayed in a fairfield the following night that was $76 vs the courtyards over 100 and it was sparkling and friendly. We will try another Marriott on our next visit in July. « less

The front desk staff was exceptional and couldn't be any more helpful. Lots of places to eat all around the hotel great location to go into downtown Tampa to go to Clearwater anywhere you want to go! Definitely would stay there again « less
